Super tour - Went on a private guided tour, the guide and driver were very nice, the bridge and rail journey up the river got to a spot where the Dutch POWs had carved the trackway from rock. Beautiful buffet dinner. Then too a Buddhist shrine in the mountains, wonderful.

Beautiful countryside, great day - so worthwhile visiting - Such a special day. Visiting the beautifully maintained cemetery and Death Railway was something I am glad I got to experience and show my children. Unfortunately, the JEATH museum is run down and not very well maintained and some of the exhibits are difficult to see due to being covered in dirt and grime, so the newer museum may have been a better choice. Kanchanaburi is so beautiful and the Tiger Temple was simply amazing. We loved our guide Nancy and driver Addy - both fun and so friendly and helpful. Nancy bought us some yummy Thai snacks and ensured we had a great day

Great Tour - I was the first group since Covid shut things down and the tour was flawless just like Covid didn't happen. The tour guide, Tor had great subject knowledge and passed on a lot of knowledge about Thai culture. It's an all day trip, picked up at my hotel at 7:30 and dropped off at 7. The van ride was comfortable and the driver was skilled. It was a great value and I have no regrets.

It is worth & I recommend! - My trip was good more than I expected even it was just 2 of us, TripGuru still managed for us a great tour guide and a good driver. Nancy was amazing & go beyond. She has all knowledge for the tour & took care of us during the trip. We were glad to have such a good trip with TripGuru. Even it was a long drive trip & raining but we had so many good memories about the trip. Meeting up with local by mistakes and was treated with kindness. I will keep up with TripGuru next time. ❤️

Well planned day tour with an amazing tour guide - Everything went well and as expected. Nina, our tour guide had brought us snacks to eat which was delicious. She was funny and very talkative. We were running short on time but still, she made sure that we cover what was part of the itinerary. She also helped us in buying some authentic Thai snacks and fruits. The train journey was really beautiful. The view over the river Kwai was amazing. We had a wonderful and memorable day.

Well organised and value for money - but the JEATH Museum was a waste of time - We anticipated a small-group van but ended up with a comfortable Toyota Camry and personal chauffer and guide. Our driver Naywe was another speed demon so 140 was the speed at any open section of road and any gap was there to be taken! Our guide Niranya was very pleasant and told us some interesting facts about the life of Buddha (who like Jesus was a real person 2500 years ago) and the birth of the new Thailand and transition from Siam. She explained that the new King Bhumipol back in the 1930s was responsible for the abolition of slavery in Siam and that Thai Land means land of the free. The trip to Kanchanaburi (the site of the Bridge over the River Kwai) took about three hours. We visited a war cemetery where English, Australian and Dutch soldiers are buried. A beautifully maintained cemetery. We then caught the train to Namtok where there is a cliff-side viaduct of several hundred metres that was constructed as part of the infamous Burma-Thailand railway line. We had as nice buffet lunch there and a walk on the viaduct before heading back to Kanchanburi. We then visited the JEATH museum (stands for Japan, England, Australia, Thailand, Holland) which was only second-rate. There is a better museum that we were disappointed our tour didn’t visit.

Interesting to see, but a very long day from Bangkok - Although it was interesting to see, it is at least five hours of travel time from Bangkok for this day tour. I would recommend seeing this as part of other things in the area. I would have liked having a ride on the train included. Unfortunately, our guide, Coconut, was difficult to understand her English and was not able to answer our questions. The driver was excellent and provided water and cool, damp towels.

Tour groups will spoil the experience - Guides are obviously so focused on getting a good tip from their groups that they don’t give a damn about other travellers who are also trying to enjoy the experience. I caught the train from an earlier stop so that I could get a good seat to enjoy the views. It seems to be an established practice to target solo travellers and surround them with tour groups, obscure the view and invade their personal space until the solo traveller moves to a different seat - which then allows the tour groups (mostly family units) to all sit together. Fair warning to solo travellers.
