Highlights
  • Longshan Temple - Meet your knowledgeable tour guide at your hotel lobby and start your private day tour in Taipei City.

Enjoy the flexibility of this private tour and create your own custom-made itinerary with the help of your knowledgeable tour guide. This private tour provides you sightseeing not only in Taipei City but the outskirts of Taipei City like Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Waterfall or Jiufen Old street.

If you are first time in Taipei, you can have the classic Taipei City tour to explore the highlights of Taipei City and schedule as follows:

Begin your day trip at the most well known Longshan Temple, learn the culture & religions of Taiwan and admire the ancient architecture built in 1738.

  • Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall - The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area.

A huge complex includes the Liberty Square, National Theatre and the Memorial Hall where you can see the show of guard exchange.

  • Dihua Street - Dihua Street has been an important centre for commerce in Taiwanese products and produce such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and for the post-processing of Taiwanese tea since 1850s.

This street offers visitors a glimpse of mid-19th century Taipei as well as the city’s thriving artistic side.

  • Dalongdong Bao An Temple - Originally constructed in 1742 as a wooden shrine, the Bao’an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. Throughout Taiwan’s history, the temple was renovated and reconstructed numerous times, leading to a 2003 induction into UNESCO for cultural heritage conservation.

  • Lin An Tai Historical House & Museum - Tour the housing and garden style of Taipei during the Qianlong Period in Qing Dynasty (1754)

  • National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine - Built in 1969, the complex contains the main shrine, as well as the famous guard changing ceremony. Most visitors will leave the area as soon as the guard changing is complete, but be sure to walk inside and explore the fascinating and beautiful Chinese architecture.

  • National Palace Museum - Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei’s Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artefacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War.

This attraction is optional, you can either spend your time on admiring the precious artifacts or skip the museum if you’re not interested.

  • Taipei 101 - The landmark of Taiwan and once the tallest building in the world (2004-2010)! You can either go up the observations at 89F (expense on your own) or admire this building from the surroundings (free).
  • Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail) - This is the best choice if you want to get the best spot to admire the view of Taipei City & Taipei 101.

However, a 40-minute hiking along the stairs is required (25-min going up, 15-min going down), but the view up there is definitely the best you can have in Taipei City.

Exceptional day in Taipei With Harry. - Harry is an exceptional tour guide and speaks perfect English. He is very friendly and help you pick the sites you wish to see. He gives you a lot of historical cultural information. I tried to download the pictures from my day, but as with a previous tour could not transfer the pictures. Great tour!! - Our tour guide Jacky was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We had a lovely day being shown round Taipei’s tourist spots. In addition to Jacky’s great job he doubled up as a fantastic photographer. Another added bonus is that he is fluent in English.

Excellent tour - Jack was an excellent driver and guide. He answered our many questions about Taiwan’s history and everyday life here as well as providing interesting details about each site we visited. He was willing to tailor the day’s itinerary to our interests. Highly recommended.

Fantastic time, exceeded my expectations! - Hicks was fantastic taking full advantage of the limited time we had. How often do you get to see multiple world heritage sites in one day? He was very knowledgeable on everywhere we visited. Hopefully one day I'm able to come back and spend more time in Taiwan, as opposed to just an 8 hour layover. I can not recommend this service enough!

Taipei through the centuries. - With only an 8-hour layover we didn’t have a moment to spare, but Hicks gave us the tour of a lifetime! His kindness, consideration, and knowledge provided us with four distinct experiences all over the city. Don’t miss the opportunity to invite him to share a meal, you won’t regret it! Thanks to Hicks we look forward to returning to Taipei for a proper holiday…and will certainly request Hicks again!

Great tour for all ages! - We had a wonderful day with Vincent and Caleb as our guides. We were a large family of 9 with ages 8-70 and everyone agreed it was definitely a highlight from our trip. We loved seeing the temple and especially enjoyed the 101 tower. They were very informative and patient. Highly recommend

Disappointing - Guide had very limited English and conveyed little information. Also itinerary suggested we would go to all places listed but in fact we were expected to choose just some of them. In the description they were not shown as options only.
