Highlights
  • Longshan Temple - Meet your knowledgeable tour guide at your hotel lobby and start your private day tour in Taipei City.

Enjoy the flexibility of this private tour and create your own custom-made itinerary with the help of your knowledgeable tour guide. This private tour provides you sightseeing not only in Taipei City but the outskirts of Taipei City like Yehliu Geopark, Shifen Waterfall or Jiufen Old street.

If you are first time in Taipei, you can have the classic Taipei City tour to explore the highlights of Taipei City and schedule as follows:

Begin your day trip at the most well known Longshan Temple, learn the culture & religions of Taiwan and admire the ancient architecture built in 1738.

  • Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall - The most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area.

A huge complex includes the Liberty Square, National Theatre and the Memorial Hall where you can see the show of guard exchange.

  • Dihua Street - Dihua Street has been an important centre for commerce in Taiwanese products and produce such as Chinese medicinal herbs, fabrics, incense materials, and for the post-processing of Taiwanese tea since 1850s.

This street offers visitors a glimpse of mid-19th century Taipei as well as the city’s thriving artistic side.

  • Dalongdong Bao An Temple - Originally constructed in 1742 as a wooden shrine, the Bao’an Temple is a Taiwanese folk religion temple. Throughout Taiwan’s history, the temple was renovated and reconstructed numerous times, leading to a 2003 induction into UNESCO for cultural heritage conservation.

  • Lin An Tai Historical House & Museum - Tour the housing and garden style of Taipei during the Qianlong Period in Qing Dynasty (1754)

  • National Revolutionary Martyrs’ Shrine - Built in 1969, the complex contains the main shrine, as well as the famous guard changing ceremony. Most visitors will leave the area as soon as the guard changing is complete, but be sure to walk inside and explore the fascinating and beautiful Chinese architecture.

  • National Palace Museum - Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei’s Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artefacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War.

This attraction is optional, you can either spend your time on admiring the precious artifacts or skip the museum if you’re not interested.

  • Taipei 101 - The landmark of Taiwan and once the tallest building in the world (2004-2010)! You can either go up the observations at 89F (expense on your own) or admire this building from the surroundings (free).
  • Elephant Mountain (aka Nangang District Hiking Trail) - This is the best choice if you want to get the best spot to admire the view of Taipei City & Taipei 101.

However, a 40-minute hiking along the stairs is required (25-min going up, 15-min going down), but the view up there is definitely the best you can have in Taipei City.

Perfect day in Taipei - This tour was the highlight of my parent’s trip to Taipei. Ted was very attentive and was flexible throughout the day. He even made a stop at an out of the way noodle place my family really wanted to see. Ted planned the perfect day in Taipei! We will book this tour again when we have more visitors.

A very pleasant day - Had Mr. Vincent Lee as guide. Excellent guide, friendly and knowledgeable. Took us to all the main tourist attractions. Very efficient time-planning, we saw a lot during this day. Mr. Lee also took good care of our comfort and all small details, and recommended an excellent local restaurant for lunch. Highly recommended!

Hicks is a great guide! - Hicks was excellent. He met us promptly and discussed with us what we wanted to see and how to best customize our tour. He took us everywhere(!), including for an excellent very local lunch, and maximized timing to avoid crowds and catch things like changing of the guards. He also helped us to avoid unnecessary duplication of similar sites. Very knowledgeable. Very friendly. Excellent English.

Day trip highlights of Taipei - Roger started communicating with us prior to our arrival at the port and told us where we would meet. He picked us upon time and took us to see Taipei’s highlights. Roger drove us safely and found parking so we didn’t have to walk too far at all the spots! Roger’s English is great and we were able to communicate very well. We recommend this day trip to see Taipei’s highlights.

Taipei Drive - We had a tour with our driver Nicolas from YOLO. His communication before our pick up was excellent and he picked us up exactly as arranged. We were on a cruise from Bali to Japan hoping to see the cherry blossom in Tokyo. The first surprise Nicolas had for us was to drive us up a mountain and voila cherry blossom what a treat also there was a magnificent display of lillies. Then we drove to most of the major Taipei sites. Stopping for an excellent local lunch. Not only was Nicholas's knowledge superb he took some memorable photos of us at the various sites. A truly wonderful experience with a tremendous guide.

Amazing Private Tour of Taipei in 1 Day - Caleb was a wonderful guide! He was a former English and History teacher, and it showed - he was patient, very engaging and knowledgeable! We were able to go to all the must see sites in Taipei and he let us explore at our leisure, telling us to enjoy and not worry about the time. It was 7:30pm by the time he dropped us back to our hotel and he didn’t mind. He also brought us to Vigor Kobo, a beautiful shop that sells variety of pineapple cakes and other yummy goodies - with free tasting and really joyful and helpful staff! Caleb patiently waited for us while we bought goodies to bring home. Caleb really made this tour enjoyable and we highly recommend it!
