Highlights
  • YehLiu Geopark - One of the premier destinations in northern Taiwan, Yehliu Geopark is home to a number of unique geological formations including the iconic Queen’s Head.

Besides the Queen’s Head, other remarkable formations include Sea Candles, Fairy Shoe, Ginger Rocks, Elephant Rock, Ice Cream Rock, Kissing Rock, and Princess’ Head.

  • Yangmingshan National Park - Origins from millions of years ago, subterranean movements caused a massive collision between the Philippines oceanic plate and the Eurasian continental plate. The resulting pressure spawned violent volcanic activity and lifted the Eurasian plate.
  • Qingtiangang Grassland - A mountain-top flatland park, Qingtiangang provides amazing views of Yangmingshan National Park.

During the Japanese occupation, the area was established as a ranch for cattle to graze. The park is still home to cows and other wildlife.

This area of Yangmingshan is very easily shrouded in clouds due to its elevation.

  • Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area - A post-volcanic geological park, Xiaoyoukeng is located on Mt. Qixing’s northwestern corner, located approximately 805 metres above sea level.

The area is known for fumaroles (mountain-side sulphur gas exhaust), hot springs, sulphur crystals.

Very good 6-hour tour - The duration of the tour, 6 hours, was just right. We were able to visit 3 sites which are far off from each other. The van used was very comfortable - new, clean. The guide and driver are very friendly, attentive to our needs. I would recommend this tour if you have limited time in Taipei.

Excellent Private Tour. - Had a great and enjoyable trip. Our guide/driver (Ted) was fantastic and knowledgeable. Even help us to take wonderful pictures and imprompt stops along the way to the various destinations for us to experience the beauty of the local settings and lifestyle. Recommended lots of good food and places that are offbeat from the standard tourist spots. Great experience and wonderful companion.

Excellent day in Taipei - Vincent was the best guide we have ever had! He engaged us in conversation and really paid attention to what we said. He then suggested a change to our planned itinerary to something that would make our experience even more enjoyable. Kudos to Vincent for an excellent day in Taipei. !!!

Yehliu and Yangminshan park - Yehliu was great, a bit rushed would have liked a bit more time there as my kid was enjoying herself there. Raincoat is great buy. Yangminshan was foggy and cold due to the weather so minimal view but still pretty the sulphur fumaroles was a good sight. Worth going on suitable weather days. Guide was friendly and informative and travel was comfy.
