- Yangmingshan National Park - Origins from millions of years ago, subterranean movements caused a massive collision between the Philippines oceanic plate and the Eurasian continental plate. The resulting pressure spawned violent volcanic activity and lifted the Eurasian plate.
- Qingtiangang Grassland - A mountain-top flatland park, Qingtiangang provides amazing views of Yangmingshan National Park.
During the Japanese occupation, the area was established as a ranch for cattle to graze. The park is still home to cows and other wildlife.
This area of Yangmingshan is very easily shrouded in clouds due to its elevation.
- Xiaoyoukeng Recreation Area - A post-volcanic geological park, Xiaoyoukeng is located on Mt. Qixing’s northwestern corner, located approximately 805 metres above sea level.
The area is known for fumaroles (mountain-side sulphur gas exhaust), hot springs, sulphur crystals.

Very educational tour - Nicolas, my tour guide was very knowledgeable and service oriented. He was great at pointing out things throughout the trip. His driving skills were also great. He was able to answer all of my questions including things i asked about that i saw on the drive. I would advise spending the majority of your time at the geo park, especially if it rains on the day of your tour. He also gave some additional information about other opportunities in Taiwan.

Excellent half day tour of Yangmingshan and Yehliu Parks! - Enjoyed our tour with Toku (our guide). He shared a lot of information and took awesome photos of our group which was very much appreciated. The lunch place he suggested was delicious - enjoyed the dimsum! Also, we enjoyed riding his Tesla car!

A relaxing trip to nature! - Went with my brother, and it was great to have a private tour with just our guide Sean! He answered all our questions, and provided background to the different sites. It was great getting away from the crowded city, and enjoying nature early in the morning before other visitors arrived.
There are a couple of places to buy food/snacks in the Yangmingshan park area. A definite highlight to our trip, was seeing the amazing formations at Yehliu!

Yangminshan National Park Tour with Richelle - We booked the Yangminshan half day private tour with Richelle in October 2024. She was an amazing guide! The day of our trip it was very rainy and the higher parts of the national park were clouded (basically we could not see a thing through the clouds), which is why we could not visit 2 of the stops of the trip (the grasslands and another point). However, Richelle found amazing alternatives for the 2 spots on lower parts of the mountain. We appreciated her quick thinking, flexibility and creativity. We really recommend Richelle!

Fantastic day - Our guide, Nicolas Ying, was fantastic.
We had to be flexible due to very rainy and windy conditions. But we were able to devise some changes that allowed everyone to have wonderful time--despite the unfavorable weather.

Private tour in Yangmingshan - We had a half day tour with Nicolas to Yangmingshan and enjoyed our trip very much. Nicolas was fun, informative, kind and very willing to tailor an itinerary to our interests. I can highly recommend the tour!

Perfect way to see the sites - Our driver Vincent provided us excellent service and made our day easy and memorable. We enjoyed seeing all of the sites North of Taipei City. I can't believe how much we fit in 6 hours! It was beautiful and comfortable. It was the perfect way to see the sites. Thank you Vincent for a great day!

Outstanding day seeing volcanic steam vents, grazing buffalo, and amazing seaside sandstone formations. - My tour guide Steven was AMAZING! Very communicative for pre-planning and excellent at showing me around, taking photos for me, and letting me enjoy the sites at my own pace. Highly recommended.

Good choice - contacted the guide a couple of days before the tour to firm up the pick up time. Communication was smooth and prompt.
Since it was a private tour, the time is flexible and could be discussed. We arranged for 9am and got to our 1st stop (xiao ye liu) ard 10am. The guide showed us the sights and helped us to take photos. Also gave us information abt the place. It helped that the weather was good. It was very sunny but windy as well.
Half day tour is great. It's not too rushed and not too tiring.
