Highlights
  • Moreton-in-Marsh - Passengers joining the tour at Stratford-upon-Avon will be collected from Shakespeare’s Birthplace Coach Terminal at 08.50-09.00am. Then, we travel to the Cotswold town of Moreton-in-Marsh, where we collect our final passengers from Moreton-in-Marsh rail station at 09.30am. From Moreton-in-Marsh, it’s a 15 minute drive to our first official stop. We’ll provide an introduction to the tour en route.
  • Rollright Stones - Discover the secrets of The Rollright Stones, the Cotswolds’ very own ancient stone circle – a ‘mini Stonehenge’! This is a fascinating place to start our tour, learn some Olde English myths and legends, and drink in panoramic views across the Cotswolds countryside. Admission to The Rollright Stones is a donation of £2 per person, but we make this donation for you by arrangement with The Rollright Trust.
  • Cotswolds - En route to our next stop, enjoy a scenic drive (approx 40 minutes) through the picturesque countryside made famous by the TV show ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ and discover tiny Cotswold villages far off the beaten track. (Please note that while this tour passes through farmland owned by Jeremy Clarkson, we do not pass or stop at Diddly Squat Farm Shop. Queues for the farm shop can be hours long, and there just isn’t time to visit on a one-day tour!)
  • Burford - This vibrant, authentic Cotswold market town is a wonderful place to learn about the history of the area, photograph classic Cotswold cottages, and seek out delicious homemade cake.
  • Guiting Power - Shhh… don’t tell anyone, otherwise this will become the next tourist trap! Gorgeous, remote and unspoilt, Guiting Power provides a slice of genuine Cotswolds countryside life. Have a pint in the local pub, or try one of David Beckham’s favourite sausage rolls!
  • Broadway - Perhaps not-so-secret, but the ‘Jewel in the Cotswolds Crown’ is not to be missed! There are art galleries to browse, independent retailers to support, and gorgeous traditional cottages to admire.
  • Stanton - Fall in love with the quiet, charming village of Stanton, which is regularly voted as one of the most beautiful and unspoilt villages in the Cotswolds.
  • Moreton-in-Marsh - Leaving Guiting Power behind, now it’s 5pm and time to say farewell to some of our passengers at Moreton-in-Marsh station. We hope you made friends and good memories!

You don’t have to end your tour where you started - if you joined us in Stratford-upon-Avon, why not spend a night or two in the pretty Cotswolds market town of Moreton-in-Marsh? We have plenty of space for your luggage, and Moreton has several accommodation options, as well as a rail station for your onward travel.

A visit to where I grew up up - I was born in Stratford on Avon and grew up in the Cotswolds. But I left the area many years ago and decided that I would leave the driving to Tom when I brought my granddaughter to show her where I spent my first 22 years. We were staying with a long time friend in Banbury and I was glad I was able to find the pickup point! Some places were still very familiar to me but it was still very exciting to see that many places hadn’t changed. If I had the opportunity to tour with Tom again, I would. He is a very knowledgeable individual and a good driver. Definitely one of the best parts of my trip. (As my granddaughter was 18, Harry Potter did become her favorite part).

Couldn't recommend it more! - Amazing tour! We took the Cotswolds in Day tour on the first day and the Secret Cotswolds tour on the second day. We took a train from London to Moreton-in-Marsh for the first day, spent the night in Stratford-upon-Avon and left for the second tour from there. If you have two days to see the Cotswolds, I highly recommend that itinerary. If you go in Spring/Summer, you'll get quite a few hours of sunlight after you arrive in Stratford, so you'll have time to explore another beautiful town. That's a great way of making the most of your time in the region. About the tour, everything was great. I had already seen the main Cotswolds villages and towns the day before, so I knew what to expect, but I was still in awe with the beauty of the place. Guiting Power was the highlight for me. Make sure to try the famous sausage roll there. Martin was our guide, and what a nice guy! Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, from his kind reminders of when to go for a safety wee, knowing we wouldn't get a bathroom break for a while, to an extra stop at 14th century Hailes Church. Just overall amazing and a great value for money.

Great tour with the best company. - Today we did a tour with our guide around the Cotswolds visiting villages that are a bit quieter and different. Martin, our guide, went over and above to make our day interesting and informative. We were taken to places that had great food as well as photo opportunities. We could not fault this tour and highly recommend Go Cotswolds tour company. They are great communicators and plan the best day for their customers.

Amazing guide: Colin! - Colin was our guide. He was fabulous and had so much enthusiasm to share all of the special details about the place. One could easily see his special connection to the hills and villages. I appreciated how Colin spoke loudly and clearly into the microphone. He made the effort to get to know us and our names. He engaged us by addressing us and asked us questions as well. By the end of the day, we were not really strangers, but people who appreciated each other's company and appreciated the beautiful landscapes and villages.

Another jewel in the Go Cotswolds crown - Visited last week with my elderly Mum. We had previously done the Cotswolds in a Day tour, so were excited by this new option. Really enjoyed the tiny villages and would love to see more tours like this and/or more similar stops on this tour. Service from Go Cotswolds was exemplary as usual. Dave was a knowledgable, passionate and attentive guide. Thoroughly recommended. 101 out of 10. ;)

Another wonderful day in the Cotswolds - This is the second tour that I’ve taken with Go Cotswolds. The first one was a day in the Cotswolds and now this is the secret Cotswolds. My guide for the secrets tour was Mark. He was terrific knew the Cotswolds really well and made the entire trip enjoyable, pointing out highlights of the scenery, which is gorgeous, the history of the Cotswolds and made sure that in each town we stopped in that we knew where the best places were to go. The amazing thing about the Cotswolds is that each town is different, but still has its own charms so it is important to see a variety of these towns Go Cotswolds provided me with that experience and I enjoyed it immensely. Best of all most of the drive is on gorgeous backroads so you can see more of the countryside than from highways. Go Cotswolds also provides each traveler with a pamphlet that has each place there. We stop with information about it in a map showing the highlights. It is very informative and helpful.

The tour was so beautiful and heartwarming. Thank you for your kindness.

The prettiest of England - I booked this tour along with the Cotswolds in a Day tour for a 2-part adventure. Our tour guide, Dave, has the most lovely accent and speaking voice and I enjoyed listening to him all day. (If he ever records an audio book about the region, I’ll buy it.) I definitely recommend this company to anyone considering a bus tour of the Cotswolds, as they’ve been in the business for a full decade now. They’re an established family-run company who cares about this region of England, as evident by their business practices (like donating on each participant’s behalf to the preservation of the Rollright Stones). Their tour guides make you feel very welcome.
