Operating Schedule: Tours leave every 30 minutes from the Washington Welcome Center (1001 E St. NW, Washington, DC 20004) starting at 9am until 4pm. The tour runs daily. A shuttle is available from the Lincoln Memorial to Arlington National Cemetery for that segment of the tour. Shuttles operate every 30 minutes from 9am - 3:30pm.

Embark on a 90-minute panoramic trolley journey around Washington, DC. The carefully planned route allows an efficient use of your time and offers a great overview of Washington, DC’s stunning landscapes and fascinating history. Board our specially designed Stadium Trolleys, which guarantee every seat is the best seat in the house.

The Trolley will make a total of 21 stops throughout the journey. Trolleys arrive at each stop every half hour, giving you the luxury to explore at your own speed. Spend an entire day discovering the key historical locations that make America’s Capital so iconic.

During the excursion, you’ll witness major landmarks including the White House, Washington Monument, US Capitol Building, Thomas Jefferson Memorial, Union Station, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and an array of Smithsonian Museums, among others!

A layover at the Lincoln Memorial connects you to a shuttle heading for the Arlington National Cemetery. Here, you’ll embark on a 45-minute hop-on-hop-off tour steeped in history.

  • Collapsible strollers are allowed on the trolley

D.C. in August - Hop on Hop off very easy to use, stops at many popular places. Drivers/tour guides very friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend you find a parking garage to park your car before arriving as street parking is very limited. Also start as early as you can so you can take advantage of all the sites. Purchase the additional Arlington Cemetery pass...well worth it!!!

Great Experience - It was a great experience! The person who greeted us at the Welcome Center was very friendly and personable. The drivers were very knowledgeable and entertaining! Thank you Hollywood, Professor, Bama, and Buckeye! They were also very helpful in giving directions of where to go from the drop off spots, etc. So glad we booked the Arlington Cemetery in addition to the hop on/hop off tour. It was definitely worth it. We had a group of 13 and always had room on the trolley for our entire group. Definitely recommend it!

Good and Not So Good - The Good: I enjoyed the first driver/guide. He was full of personality and knew everything about everything. The trolley's were comfortable. I liked that this hop on, hop off went to Arlington. Big Bus did not. The Not So Good: Had to wait quite a while for a bus to show up. Meanwhile, two Big Bus Tours came and went while we were waiting. The second driver we had was brand new - it was only his second day. He tried valiently and did a decent job. But I missed my first, seasoned driver. This could happen with any tour bus, though. It's the luck of the draw. If you want to see Arlington, the Trolley Tour hop-on hop-off is a great option. If Arlington isn't on your bucket list, though, I'd probably try the Big Bus Tour. Their fleet is bigger and there's less waiting time. Plus, Big Bus let's you buy 2 and 3 day passes, which saves you money.

We enjoyed the trolley and all drivers. - The app does not give any detailed info. I wish there were specific instruction given as to time of arrival and the stop numbers on the app. That would have saved me a lot of time!

Disappointed in our tour of DC - Very disappointed, we were not taken by Arlington Cemetery as we were supposed to be. We paid almost $160.00 to be driven around the city of WASHINGTON DC when we hopped off we couldn’t get into 1/2 the exhibits we were shown.

Never experienced the tour. - It was horrible!! I know I booked a night tour because that's what we were specifically looking for! A one day hop on and off tour was booked. When we got to the bus for the night tour we were not able to get on the bus. The total charge was $318.80 for tours that were never taken!! This is my second time having a horrible experience with Viator. Please refund my money!! My reference number is 1172773817.
