• Washington Monument - The tour will begin with the Washington Monument, which is dedicated to the United States’ first president, George Washington. We will view and discuss the monument from a distance. If you wish to see the monument up close, I recommend you do so before the tour.

Join this engaging walking tour to discover some of Washington, DC’s most renowned monuments. Participants will learn about the individuals these monuments commemorate and the creators behind them. The group will engage in discussions about the significance of monuments and their purpose.

Be prepared to walk approximately a mile (1.6 km). While there are benches available, they are not present at every stop. It’s advisable to bring a water bottle. Most importantly, bring your curiosity and your camera!

You might have encountered her at The Frederick Douglass House, Cape Cod National Seashore, or The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal during her seven years of service. Shelley holds a Master’s degree in museum studies and a Bachelor’s degree in anthropology and linguistics. She looks forward to meeting you!
