Great time at Mt. Vernon! - Our guide Bobby was great, giving us info on Alexandria, Lee, and Washington. Very friendly and informative. Because of the time of year, the tour wasn’t crowded, and we were even able to get in earlier than our ticket time. Would definitely recommend this trip. Mt. Vernon guide was also very knowledgeable, with insightful info on Washington.

The Life of George Washington Outside of the Presidency - We had a wonderful tour of Mt Vernon! The weather was beautiful, we were on a small shuttle van, total of 7 in our group. Our guide was very knowledgeable on the trip over and back, easy to listen to and many interesting facts. It was unseasonably hot but the plantation is so beautiful with ample shade. All of the guides associated with the plantation were great and the sights on the plantation are extremely well preserved. Our guide also drove us around the town of Alexandria and we had some time to walk around. I highly recommend this tour!

Mt Vernon/Alexandria - Driver had tremendous knowledge of area. It was a rainy day so we did not explore Alexandria outside of the van. I doubt we would've had enough time to enjoy it. We could have spent the entire time at Mt. Vernon as history buffs. The museum is very thorough. He did tour around the outskirts of the national museum area to point out some of the less notable government buildings on our return trip.

False Advertising - Visiting Mt Vernon was on my list to do for years. While we enjoyed the trip, it was not as advertised. There was no noted archeologist or any special guide at all. This was THE reason we chose this tour. Nor was there a walking tour of Old Alexandria. There was no bottled water as promised. All of the folks in this tour expected the same thing and felt this was false advertising by Viator. Friendly and accommodating driver who told us the company had never offered the described tour

Mt Vernon was excellent, Alexandria was a short drive around - Visiting Mt Vernon was excellent. The grounds, historic buildings and the mansion are well laid out with lots of information. All the staff at the estate were friendly. It was definitely worth seeing. Our driver was good with a polite and easy manner and I felt safe in the vehicle. I've marked this down a bit because of the Alexandria section. We did a drive around the old town and it was lovely to see. We didn't have an opportunity to get out and walk around. The itinerary indicates one hour, we drove around for maybe 15 mins. It was sufficient, especially since there was a light rain. The area we saw was residential so nothing would have been gained by walking. I think the description of the tour should be updated to indicate it was a drive around the old town past historic houses.

Not what we thought we signed up for…. - We anticipated having a guided tour of Mount Vernon and Old Alexandria. We got transported to and back…but we were on our own to explore…. It was listed as a 6 hour tour…but we were back in 5. Driving quickly through old Alexandria was not what we expected. We thought we would have a stop or two….

Good Tour, not enough time - We enjoyed the tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. We did not have enough time to see all of the Mt Vernon buildings I would have liked. The line to get into the main mansion was almost an hour.

No walking tour - The itinerary stated that there was a 1 hour walking tour of Old town Alexandria. We drove through the town, but never stopped to get out. Also, it said that water was provided. No water was ever offered to us. The driver's phone was constantly ringing during the drive.
