Take this tour - Amy, our driver was wonderful. She told us things to expect and things to look for. She was well versed in the region. Our tour guide from the Gettysburg National Museum, Gary, that rode through the park with us was the best. He told the story of the battle in such an interesting way. He answered our questions and really knew his subject matter. We thought we might drive to Gettysburg and visit the battlefield on our own. So glad we took this tour instead. Worth it!

Great Day Trip to Gettysburg - Taking a group tour from Washington DC to visit Gettysburg was the ideal method for my friends and I to experience this important historical sight. We are fortunate to have a driver/guide, Galen, who went out of his way to make the trip special. From ensuring a comfortable ride to helping us understand the history of Gettysburg before we arrived, Galen made the trip special. The tour itself leaves you plenty of time to visit the spectacular visitor center with artifacts from Gettysburg and a Cyclorama (large panoramic painting of the battle) along with a ranger-led vehicle tour of the battle grounds. Would highly recommend this tour for those who only have time for a day trip from Washington DC.

Gettysburg in depth - Galen was an excellent , guide , driver and organiser , nothing was too much trouble . The museum, film and cyclorama did a great job of setting the scene for the afternoon. The 2.1/2 tour with Howie a licensed Gettysburg guide was superb , he was extremely knowledgeable, answered all The questions asked of him . All in all highly recommended.

Gettysburg visitors center stop for a movie and museum visit, town of Gettysburg for 1hr lunch on our own, military cemetery visit and finished up with a battlefield tour w guide. The guide took us to various spots for each day of the battle and we could walk around and take it all in. Great trip and hassle free. Would defiantly recommend.

Good trip - Amy and the driver were great. Amy gave a lot of information during our travel and was very knowledgeable. The Gettysburg tour was great the tour guide gave us lots of information and let us stop so he could explain about the site. The break for lunch was plenty of time to eat and see some of the city. It was a all day trip.

Incredibly Informative & Great Value - This was a great tour. As a solo traveller or couple, it is difficult to find a Washington DC to Gettysburg tour without paying a LOT for a private group tour. Galen, our driver and facilitator, provides an excellent solution at a very reasonable price. There’s a 90 min comfortable journey each way at the start/end. Where possible, Galen dropped us off individually at our hotels at the end of the tour, which was appreciated. Once at Gettysburg there are three parts to the tour - all of which are included in the tour price already paid: 1. Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center - short film, cyclorama, and museum. All are very high quality. The museum is quite extensive so don’t expect to see everything. 2. Gettysburg town centre - be sure to visit the free David Wills House museum next to the Lincoln with Tourist statue. Potentially also the cemetery. 3. Two hour Battlefield tour with Licensed Guide - there are currently only 50-60 people licensed to give tours of Gettysburg. They are PhD-level and study for 5-6 years to be licensed. We were a small group of 4 + Galen + licensed guide. For two hours Galen drives around the battlefield, at the instruction of the guide, who talks through, in incredible detail, the three day battle. There are regular drop offs along the way to step out the car and hear the story from various spots around the battlefield. This is the absolute highlight of the tour as you can ask literally any question and the guide will give you an incredibly thorough and curated answer - they know literally everything. It works brilliantly, with Galen whizzing us around - much better than the big coach tours you see there. Well done Galen and Co for facilitating an incredibly detailed, informative and brilliant tour. There was so much high quality information and in a variety of mediums. Well worth the money.

Recommendations - Overall this was an enjoyable experience. Two recommendations however. We were instructed to meet the bus at the Shakespeare theater. We weren't aware there were two such theaters. So we waited at one and discovered the bus was waiting around the corner another street over. Also the driver was very pleasant but his monolog could not be heard by those of us at the back of the bus. A microphone might help this.

Poor effort - Very disorganized and the guide spoke very poor English. The guide at the battle field was fantastic. We were left at the visitor center for 3 hours Would not recommend this tour to anyone.
