• Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial - The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is a national monument located in West Potomac Park next to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Covering four acres, it includes the Stone of Hope, a granite statue of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. carved by sculptor Lei Yixin.
• Lincoln Memorial - The Lincoln Memorial is surrounded by 36 fluted Doric columns, each representing one of the 36 states in the Union at the time of Lincoln’s death. As you ascend the steps, two additional columns are located at the entrance behind the colonnade. These columns are 44 feet tall with a base diameter of seven feet and five inches.
