  • National World War I Memorial - The National World War I Memorial is a national memorial commemorating the service rendered by members of the United States Armed Forces in World War I. The 2015 National Defense Authorization Act authorized the World War I Centennial Commission to build the memorial in Pershing Park, located at 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. The park, which has existed since 1981, also contains the John J. Pershing General of the Armies commemorative work. In January 2016, the design commission selected the submission “The Weight of Sacrifice”, by a team consisting of Joseph Weishaar, Sabin Howard, Phoebe Lickwar, and GWWO Architects, as the winning design,[1] which is expected to be completed by 2024.[2]

  • Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial - Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial
Located to the south of the National Mall, the national memorial is set in a park-like plaza, with large columns framing a mesh tapestry depicting the site of the Normandy landings, and sculptures and bas-reliefs arrayed in the park. Architect Frank Gehry designed the memorial and Sergey Eylanbekov sculpted the bronze statues of Eisenhower in various settings. The memorial’s tapestry artist was Tomas Osinski, and the inscription artist, Nicholas Waite Benson.
On October 25, 1999, the United States Congress created the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial Commission, and charged it with creating “…an appropriate permanent memorial to Dwight D. Eisenhower…to perpetuate his memory and his contributions to the United States.” The preliminary design proved controversial. After several years of hearings and several design changes by Gehry, final design approvals were given in 2017, when dignitaries held a groundbreaking ceremony at the four-acre site.

Highlights of monuments & memorials in DC - A great tour to see and find out about a lot of monuments, memorials and history in a short time Stops for looking around we’re at all the places we wanted to see while in Washington DC. Challenging for the driver on the day as an overseas leader was visiting and lots of streets were suddenly closed off. He did a great job of making changes and keeping the commentary going.

Poor driver - Our guide kept saying "there's your people" in reference to various ethnicities he saw standing in sidewalks as we passed. He was obnoxious and insisted we be responsible for keeping up with passengers so they weren't left behind.

False Advertisement - False advertisement. The description of the tour say “half-day BUS sightseeing tour” and when we reached the pick up point which was 2 miles from my hotel and I had to park my card in paid parking lot, I was shocked to see a tinted glass van with one passenger. He was polite but justifying how Van is better. We were so disappointed that we had to ask for cancel the tour and raise a refund. I’m waiting for refund as of now.

Not worth it - The driver appears to be well-educated, but he mumbles, making him difficult to understand. When we attempted to discuss what we were seeing with my family, he shouted at the whole bus despite our whispers. We are still unsure who the driver was yelling since no one was talking loud . I strongly advise against taking this tour in the summer. He left us at the Lincoln Memorial for over an hour, causing my mother to require immediate hospitalization due to the heat. We chose this tour expecting air conditioning and a refuge from the heat. On our return, a different driver picked us up and constantly yelled and cursed, which was captured in all our videos. If you're only looking to be driven around, this might be acceptable, but don't expect a quality bus tour.
