Highlights
  • 18408 W Reynolds Rd - The most intimate summer dog sledding experience in Alaska! We’re a family operation and that includes our team of dogs that enjoy meeting guests just as much as we do! From the moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by a yard full of excited, happy dogs. You’ll get to know your guide and meet the dog team. Our dogs are very friendly and love to give kisses!

Watch their energy level skyrocket as we get the team ready to go, then hit our private trails for an approximately 1-2 mile ride, depending on weather conditions. We use carts specially designed to simulate a sled on dry land. They are 100% dog-powered so you can take in all of the natural sounds around you! Each cart seats just two people for a truly authentic and intimate experience.

After your ride, we’ll head on a nature walk to our hand-carved, wooden pavilion with a Denali view for a hands-on presentation of the gear we use to train in the wintertime. We’ll bring a few dogs with us too!

Check out our Iditarod race sled, try stepping onto the runners and into the shoes of an Alaskan musher. We love sharing tales from the trails and will happily answer all of your questions!

Additional Information

Embark on an unforgettable summer dog sledding journey in Alaska! Our specialized dog mushing carts only accommodate two guests at a time for an immersive experience.

Your adventure enrolls on our exclusive, concealed preparatory trails, enveloped by native spruce and birch trees of Alaska. These are the identical trails we use for winter Iditarod training! Our carts are propelled entirely by dogs, akin to a sled, allowing you to absorb the calmness of nature devoid any rumbling engines or disturbing traffic!

Post each ride, we release all the dogs to freely interact and socialize with our guests. Relish interacting and frolicking with our champion dogs during an informative open house tour, where inquiries are welcomed!

Add a visit to our kennel and an excursion through the wilderness towards our handmade, wooden pavilion boasting a view of Denali for a practical exhibition of our winter equipment and race sled!

We offer complimentary cookies and water as a refreshing break from the summer heat. We eagerly await your arrival!

Highlight of our Alaskan Trip - This was definitely a highlight of our Alaskan trip. We had Dane as our guide and he was the best. He truly loves these dogs and seems so excited (and a bit nervous) to do his 1st Iditarod next year. He has turned us into fans and we will definitely be watching him from Utah and rooting for him and his team of dogs. Wonderful facility. The ride in the carts they have is fantastic. We would absolutely do this again when back in the area. Go Dane Go!!!

Fun experience with dog sledding! - We had a great time meeting the team (both 2 legged and 4 legged) at Alaskan Husky Adventures. Matt, the owner came out to greet us and we talked with his team and got to meet so many excited doggies who wanted to pull our sleds! Dane, was our main guide and explained to us how the training for the ididerod goes and exercising the dogs. We got to pet many of them, and really had a fun experience. Although we did not get to ride on snow due to the summer weather, the dogs still need to practice and get exercise, so it was perfect!

Such a FUN experience! - SO MUCH FUN!!! We didn't know a whole lot about the Iditirod before we went, but Matthew and his team shared great stories and information along the way, we left feeling like experts. Loved meeting the dogs, and the sled ride was amazing. We appreciated the full-circle experience of meeting the dogs, taking the ride, then visiting the pavilion to learn more about the race itself and check out Matthew's sled. The dogs are so sweet and loving, so happy, and clearly very well cared-for. Such healthy little babies. Totally worth the drive from Anchorage (it's about 90 minutes) and one of our trip highlights!

The dogs are amazing and the ride is like no other on an actual sled! It really shows how passionate they are about what they do; all of the dogs (50+!!) were so lovable! We are recommending this to any and all of our friends and family!

Fun unique experience, worth every penny - Our family which included my husband and I, kids (9 and 12) and grandparents had a blast. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. There were lots of dog interactions. Their unique cart the dogs pulled us in gave us a similar winter experience even though we visited in summer. Do watch out for the mosquitoes !

The personalized tour, being able to spend time with Matthew and the passion these folks have for their craft set this tour apart. Take the time to visit Alaska Husky Adventures....you will absolutely love it. Can't wait to come back for the winter tour!

Would love to go back! - Great experience! Our hosts love the dogs, and the dogs love everyone. We could feel the dogs’ excitement as our mushers guided each two-person sled. A beautiful location & knowledgeable hosts made it fun! And congenial kennel owner Matt Failor won the top Sportsmanship Trophy in the Iditarod, twice! What a highlight for our large family (ages 6-74).

Great time with wonderful dogs! - We did the tour without a ride and it was terrific! We are major animal lovers and so are Matt and his crew. The dogs LOVE their lives there, that was absolutely clear within seconds of interacting with them. They know every dog’s personality, likes and dislikes. And the dogs get tons of time to romp and play. Great experience.
