Waterford, as the ancient city of Ireland, owes much of its history to its estuary. This estuary was once a key entry point for initial Viking invaders. The city’s history is heavily influenced by the Norman and Cromwellian invasions, as well as events from both World War I and II. For a prolonged period, the Port of Waterford was an important hub in international shipping, and its history is rich with stories. Moreover, its river and estuary host a variety of biodiversity, with assorted plants, animals, and marine life.

Fantastic boat trip!!! - Absolutely amazing experience!! Both Andy and Johny were fantastic! They both have a wealth of knowledge about all the history of Waterford and were extremely personable. This was the best boat trip we have ever been on!! If you’re in Waterford make sure to go!! We even seen Dolphins!! :) thanks lads!!

Charming , excellent value for money. - Such a terrific trip with Cptn Andy at the helm and Jonny as our guide. Beautiful scenery, tranquil pace, fantastic way to enjoy the river and see Waterford from a whole new angle. Enjoyed the tea and snacks half way through and the special surprise of Irish coffee prepared by our Captain.
No downside to this trip. Excellent value for money and wonderful service throughout. Don't miss this!!!!!!

Viking boat tour - The tour was very informative and not too much information to feel overwhelmed. The hot tea and candy were a nice touch. The tour guide also recommended a hike, the Dunmore Coastal Path which was great!

Beautiful experience and amazing history lesson - Mike was a great captain and the gent explaining the history of the area was amazing (Johnny, I believe). Amazing history lesson covering Vikings, U-boats/WW1, WW2, and Waterford Castle/Fitzgeralds. Dress warm. 100% recommend!

10/10 Would recommend!! - Just back from this amazing cruise with Johnny and Andy - what a great experience! Even though the weather was not great, they made sure we take in as many of the views as possible and we learned a lot from Johnny about Waterford, it's surroundings and it's history. We also received a how beverage, which was more than welcomed on this cold day!
For anyone booking through here, the cruise is actually at a time that suits you and your group, rather than a set time, which is super handy!
Thanks again to Andy and Johnny for making this such a memorable experience!

Family Trip - We had a fantastic trip today. Captain Andy and Johnny were super. Johnny was incredibly knowledgeable on the history aspect. We were looked after so well, kids loved every second and adults loved it too. Highly recommend

Great day with Osprey Viking Tours in Waterford - Great friendly tour with Andy and Johnny. Johnny is a fountain of local knowledge and his enthusiasm adds to the experience and the tour.
