One evening at the ‘Falcon,’ he participated in a drinking contest, ended up intoxicated, and slept under a crab tree for days. This tree, located along the main road to Bidford-on-Avon, became a shrine and a target for souvenir hunters until it was uprooted in 1824. After its disappearance, it gained celebrity status.
- Broom - Mentioned in his rhyme ‘Beggerley Broom,’ this small village is near Bidford and Wixford.
- Wixford - The tour concludes here at the historic 16th Century Inn, Three Horseshoes Wixford, where guests will enjoy a delicious traditional homemade three-course English carvery, all included in the tour price! It’s the perfect way to end a day rich in history and culture. Ample time is provided for photos, with ‘Restaurant time’ set at 1 hour and 30 minutes.
