• Switched on Bikes - The tour begins at our shop, conveniently located by Chaffers Dock Marina, just a 5-minute walk from the Wellington iSite information centre and Te Papa Museum. Arrive early and enjoy a coffee at our on-site café.

Our team will equip you with a bike and helmet, and provide comprehensive instructions on using your eBike (it’s simple!). We offer a spacious, car-free area to practice riding before the tour commences.

• Wellington Waterfront - Our store is situated on the vibrant Wellington Waterfront. From here, you can observe the inter-island and local ferries, and if you’re lucky, spot stingrays, seals, or even dolphins!

The Wellington Waterfront is bustling with events and markets throughout the year, especially when the sun shines!

• Kupe Statue - The first stop on the tour offers an intriguing story about New Zealand’s first inhabitants from nearly a thousand years ago. Discover the rich Māori culture and history of Wellington/New Zealand during this tour.
• Solace In The Wind - Pose with this iconic and poetic statue on the waterfront as your guide shares tales of Wellington’s legendary winds! Capture a photo with the striking Wellington sign while you’re here!
• Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa - We’ll pause outside Te Papa, a central landmark on Wellington’s waterfront. As New Zealand’s national museum, we’ll inform you about the current exhibitions. It’s a short walk from our shop if you wish to explore further after your bike tour.
• Oriental Bay - We’ll cycle along the path beside the beach, stopping for photos to capture the popularity of this beach spot on a sunny day!
• Zephyrometer - Take a break and admire Wellington’s iconic wind needle. Watch this 85-foot wind sculpture sway and learn about New Zealand’s innovative energy system.
• Cog Park - Enjoy a café stop here, with tea or coffee included in the tour price. The picturesque harbour and docked yachts provide a stunning backdrop for memorable photos.
• Maupuia Walkway - For breathtaking views of Wellington and the surrounding bays, we’ll switch the bikes to ‘turbo’ and head to the top of Miramar Peninsula. You’ll have ample time for photos and hear a Māori legend about the formation of Wellington Harbour.
• Mount Victoria - We’ll ride along the coast at the base of Mt Victoria for much of the tour, offering numerous photo opportunities with Mt Victoria as your backdrop.
• Switched on Bikes - The tour concludes here. You’re centrally located, just a 15-minute walk from Wellington’s iconic Cable Car and 5 minutes from Te Papa.

From the centrally located Waterfront to the quiet bays and panoramic lookouts, you’ll be enthralled from start to finish. These quality electric bikes are easy to use and make riding up hills a breeze. If you can ride a bike, you can ride an eBike! Your guide will keep you and your group safe with helmets provided and full riding instruction. This 3-4 hour tour is lighthearted, fun and engaging with the focus on riding and finding the best view points. You’ll get a local’s perspective on the culture and history of our vibrant capital city and surrounding bays.

• Riders must advise height if under 59 inches (150cm)
