Exceptionally Well Organised Rail Trail Cycle Trip ~ Worth The Trip to Wellington Itself! - Many thanks to Dave, Isaac, Alex and the rest of the Wildfinder team. This was an incredibly well organised rail trail cycle, with communication from the team a standout. Prior to the cycle: Excellent communication from Isaac and Alex regarding pick up times, locations, and forecasted weather conditions. Received confirmation updates even up till the night before. The team were very accommodating and organised transport from Wellington Station to an early drop off location Maymorn (for an extended ride). Day of the cycle: Dave and Isaac ensured all equipment were checked and fitted, including mountain bikes, helmets, lights, first aid kit, repair kits, and emergency equipment. Appreciated the big emphasis on safety, including an explanation of emergency SOS GPS use (provided). Received a briefing on the entire cycle track and terrain, with maps and instructions. As a big bonus, the team were also kind enough to provide water and a packed lunch for you to enjoy on your travels. The ride itself was an incredible experience, words cannot do it justice. The trail was well signed. The swingbridge, summit, and lookout were an absolute highlight (excellent spot for lunch). Can get windy at some points, worth bringing a jacket. After the cycle, Alex and Dave were at the Cross Creek Carpark pick up location ready to transport you back home. Summary: Wildfinder did an exceptional job organising this cycle and ensuring I was kept in the loop throughout the process. They have a big emphasis on safety which was consistent throughout. The ride was spectacular, and worth the detour to Wellington in itself. I would highly recommend this team and tour to anyone keen for a ride.

Do it! - Great service. Great trail. Great lunch. The entire experience was well worth it. While Wellington is windy, it is worth leaving town and enjoying the mountains.

Issac was my guide. Took... - Issac was my guide. Took great care of me. Loved the tunnels, and bridges. Creek running along part of the trail. Too windy (wind gusts) to cross suspension bridge on my bike the day I rode but spectacular sight to look down on the steep canyon below.

Fun ride would book again! - Even in the cold rain we had a blast. Isaac was a great host and did a wonderful job prepping us for the trail and for our first time using e-bikes. The lunch was good and we had plenty of food. We would love to come back and do this again!

The rain was pouring sideways when we started. I asked the team if it was safe to travel, no support or cellphone. There response was looking at each other then a shrug of not knowing? The wind gusts were between 50-60 miles per hour and the bridge was unpassable on bike and even standing up as we passed over. We needed to hunker down and sidestep. At points we (experienced mountain bikers) felt it unsafe to bike as the wind ripped down the mountain to a steep edge. We had rain gear but it was completely ineffective. There should have been more support. We do not know the area or the inclement conditions. It felt unsafe at points. Traffic was halted, both directions on the highway due to unsafe conditions. I would love to do this again on a better day but the company should be thinking about the safety of riders while still providing this excursion.
