Stop and listen🤩 - We did a 2 hour tour of Zealandia with Don. He’s sooooo knowledgable and loves the native birds and wildlife. Lots of birds spotted. Great to hear the stories of the history of the fence and how nature is fighting back. Recommended!!

Love it - 10 out of 10! Will definitely go again. The most amazing part for me was we all standing quiet and listened to birds chirping. Then our guide will tell us what kind of bird it is. Just so amazing! The view and walk are pleasant too.

Amazing Diversity of Animals When They Have No Predators - This 550 acre in town wildlife preserve is a paradise for birds and other small animals since the entire area is protected by a 9 km. 12 ft. high special fence with an amazing 500 person volunteer staff to monitor it for breaches on a daily basis. A guide took our group of 8 around, was a wealth of information and answered all of our questions. The animals are used to human proximity and easy to see. Well maintained, large variety of hiking trails with signage, and interesting reproducible bird calls by pushing a button. Cafe and great gift shop. If you are a birder, this is a must.

Highly informative tour - Having left it too late to organise any tour other than a daytime one while spending 2 nights in Wellington we were not sure whether we would enjoy a tour or not. We had, after all, spent 3 weeks in the South Island visiting bush areas. However, our guide, Matt, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and amenable to answering questions and we thoroughly enjoyed our tour. What an amazing project Zealandia is and great to see so many children there too.
