Lock your bikes up and head inside for a free tour!
- Switched on Bikes - Pick up your bikes from our centrally located shop on the Wellington Waterfront.
- Oriental Bay - Cruise the waterfront past the scenic and popular Oriental Bay
- Mount Victoria - Set the eBikes to TURBO and head up to the main look out of Wellington City.
- Shelly Bay - The Chocolate Fish Cafe located at Shelly Bay is the best local cafe on our popular bike route! Serving excellent coffee from a beautiful spot.
- Lyall Bay - Great beach dotted with cafes. Watch planes take off and land from the nearby airport, surfer learn to surf and dogs chasing sticks.
- Scorching Bay - The best swimming beach in Wellington! Gorgeous white sands in a sheltered spot. Plenty of space to picnic of the grass and beach. There’s a cafe serving ice-cream and lunch.
- Weta Cave - Ride your bike to Weta Workshop and pop into the Weta Cave or take a guided one hour tour. Learn about Wellington’s film history, Peter Jackson and Lord of the Rings.

Ride at your own pace by hiring an eBike on this half-day or full-day self-guided adventure of Wellington. From the centrally located Waterfront to the quiet bays and panoramic lookouts, you’ll be enthralled from start to finish. These quality electric bikes are easy to use and suitable for any level of fitness. If you can ride a bike, you can ride an eBike. You will be provided with riding instructions, a helmet, a lock and a cycle map of the city, including top picks of places to stop on your ride.
You can ride the bays to take in the best view points or use your eBike as your transport between the Wellington must see attractions such as Weta Workshop, Zealandia Sanctuary, Te Papa Museum or the Wellington Cable Car located only 5-minutes away. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or in a group, you’ll love exploring Wellington on these top-quality electric bikes!

- Bike manufacturer has a weight limit of 330 lbs (150 kilograms)

High Quality E-Bikes - The men helping us were top-notch and so were the bikes. The maps and counsel given to us were very helpful in navigating Wellington for our first time.

Best biking ever Wellington - We had an amazing bike trip with Switched on Bikes. The rental office was easy to find. Everyone at the bike rental were very helpful. Fitted our bikes and helmet and gave us a little bike around to make sure the bikes were working well. Than gave lots of options and ideas as to where to bike. We explored the coastline went in to the Weta Cave than for lunch at Shelly Bay Chocolate Fish Cafe EXCELLENT. Ended up biking all day SO FUN

Best way to see the city - Simple booking experience, quick pick up, decent bike. Great way to get out of the CBD and see the sights of Wellington. Def needed the Turbo setting on some of the climbs,

A great activity - We had a wonderful four hours of easy biking. Going up Mt Victoria was no trouble at all and, when the wind came up later on, we were very grateful for the electric boost we had so that we didn't have to pedal into the wind. We highly recommend this company as the whole process was so easy, from booking online to the information given about the bikes and routes. They were also very accommodating when we had to reschedule our initial reservation - nothing seemed to be a problem. This is a well-oiled machine! Thanks so much to everyone at Switched On Bikes for the wonderful experience.

The best way to see Wellington - An awesome way to explore Wellington. Cycling in and out of picturesque bays while also stopping at landmarks and points of interest. The electric bike made this tour a dream, especially when riding uphill. We absolutely loved this tour.
