Great stuff - Great overview of Wellington starting with Mount Victoria, The WETA workshop was certainly a highlight. Multiple stops and visits for LOTR filming sites including a river, parks and rainforest. Water and snacks given earlier and a wonderful buffet lunch was provided at a lovely restaurant.. make sure you look at the garden on site. The guides were full of information and answered all questions... a must do for Wellington.

A Must See - Wow! This tour was awesome andis a MUST while in Wellington! We give it the highest rating possible out of all the experiences we have done in our three week tour . It was a fascinating experience, and we learned so much about Wellington, WETA workshop, film, production and the Lord of the Rings filming details. The guide told such interesting stories about all the characters, actors and locations! Our guides were Ben and Gina B and they were funny, friendly, efficient , interesting and so knowledgeable. They even went out of their way to help us out with some travel and shopping tips at the end of the tour.

Wellington LOTR adventure - Be prepared to walk and know there are some ‘drive by’ points - have your camera ready. Also be prepared for the Wellington elements. The Weta Workshop tour doesn’t allow photos so develop your photographic memory skills. Great tour. Thanks Grant!

Caught Up In Middle Earth - While we had some rain, this was a great tour! Dixie was lots of fun and most helpful. Her subject matter knowledge was super and she brought to locations to life for us. My wife and I were not gung-ho LOTR people like some in our group, but were caught up in the excitement. We enjoyed hiking around in the woods a bit and the studio was amazing.

Exceptional tour. - Our tour was very fun and comprehensive. Marc was an exceptional tour guide, as he played a number of roles in front of and behind the camera on the LoTR trilogy. His stories made the whole experience unforgettable. Lots of photo ops. There are a few filming locations in Wellington proper, but the full day tour goes outside the city for some amazing walks through nature. Perfect for LoTR superfans and regular fans that want to learn more. Rainforest tour was a great addition as well. Highly recommend this tour.

Can't Miss this tour - Marc was great! Really relaxed tour, and thorough. He told personal and excellent stories of production of LoTR and the Hobbit. Did really good with the trivia quiz! This tour exceeded years of expectation!

Impressive - From start to finish, our tour guide, Gina, kept the enthusiasm at a high level. The reaction by those on the tour would go from casual interest to immediate excitement with the understanding of a site's significance in the movies. Gina provided a visual reference at these locations that caused everyone to try and get themselves captured in a snapshot or video in the exact same position as seen in the movies. Her work as an "extra" and behind the scenes provided depth not to be found in any brochure. Gina's running monologue between locations was insightful and continued to build on each other throughout the day. I found many of my unspoken questions were eventually answered through this telling. I also appreciated Gina's sharing the effect these movies had upon the residents of the city of Wellington. I now have a much better understanding of the work involved and the challenges encountered in making a movie. A tour is only as good as the guide providing it. Gina made this tour amazing. I would recommend this tour 100%. Well done!

Our guide, Andy, made the... - Our guide, Andy, made the tour worthwhile. It was clear he had a passion for LOTR and Wellington and was always willing to take a picture or offer local advice. More than just LOTR trivia, he had a personal connection to the films and the city and taught us about the history of Wellington and the local Māori tribes. The film locations and views were incredible to see but it was our guide that really made this tour stand out.

Not to miss even in the rain! - Hamish made our day, weather and all. This is such a great tour, and needed since almost all filming locations have reverted to natural habitat. The stories are not to miss. We had a really great lunch at the café, the bread pudding was a knockout! The Weta Workshop tour is also a must see. So great!
