You will do the course work online, once you sign up for the course, we will contact you for some additional information and get you all set up with PADI so you can do the online work. It takes 6-8 hours to complete the online portion.

Just book your dives with West Bay Divers! You will be so glad you did. - My husband and I came to Roatan for our Honeymoon and completed the open water dive course with West Bay Divers. We were so satisfied with our time there and have no plans to ever dive with anyone else in Roatan. The dive shop has such a warm, friendly atmosphere and we immediately felt welcomed there. Joel (our instructor) was absolutely fantastic, he loves diving and his excitement alone just made the experience so fun and enjoyable. We felt our classroom session was super beneficial and appreciated how thoroughly and carefully Joel taught each topic.
He also spent as much time as needed to ensure our gear fit correctly and comfortably, trying different sizes and styles of masks and fins to make sure we had the best fit for our dives.
If you want a shop that values safety and fun, this is your place. Joel had a great balance of making sure we felt confident and safe during each dive, teaching us techniques and checking in to make sure we were ok, but never hovered over us and gave us space to explore the underwater world and take in the amazing sea life. The dive boats and captains were equally as great and offered to help when getting in and out of the water. West Bay Divers was a 10/10 experience in every area possible. You will not regret diving with this fun crew!

I would repeat a hundred thousand times more - One of the best experiences I've ever had.
The location is exceptional. There is no better place to dive than a reef full of life. The beaches are paradise.
The dive center feels nice, tidy and caring. It gives a lot of confidence to be there. All the material was in perfect condition and they were careful to take care of it.
The staff was wonderful, from my instructor Joel who was very attentive, friendly, rolled up and nice; to the captains of the boats and the rest of the team.
I would definitely dive with them again when I returned to Roatan.

West Bay is amazing and Joel is the absolute best instructor a family could ask for! - We feel like we hit the jackpot when we got Joel as our dive instructor. Joel was absolutely amazing. We could not have asked for a better experience and a more compassionate, relatable, flexible and patient dive instructor. As a family of 4 - two daughters and my husband, we all came with some nervousness. Joel adjusted the program to accommodate all of our needs and answer our questions without any hesitation. I dont feel like any other dive now can compare! We only want to dive at West Bay Divers and Joel in Roatan! I'd give this experience way above 5 stars. thank you, West Bay and Joel!

West Bay Divers Rock! - Top notch professionals! The gear was new, clean and reliable. The shop was run by Barney who was well informed and communicated very well. Our Dive Master, Joel, was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and most importantly I felt 100% safe with it being my first experience. I even felt comfortable doing a night dive the day after my certification. I would highly recommend West Bay Divers and especially Joel!

Wonderful Experience - What an incredible experience! West Bay Divers is truly the best on the island. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. Arturo was a fantastic instructor and was so patient and helpful. I will definitely be back to dive with them again.

Certification - I decided to get certified in Roatan and came across West Bay Divers via google search. Best decision ever! My instructor Karim is amazing! Super knowledgeable and patient! He made me feel at ease every step of the way! Highly recommend booking your certification with Karim.

Best dive shop in Roatán! - I did my open water certification with Peter Van Voohris and he made it the most memorable experience. His knowledge of Scuba combined with his empathy and attention to detail are diving 60ft under water a safe and comfortable adventure. Also, he actively sought out different sea life for me to see!
The entire West Bay Dive Shop is amazing! By the end of my trip, if felt like I was leaving good friends.

Amazing dive center! - Amazing dive site, extremely helpful throughout booking and pre learning. Jose is an amazing guide and instructor. He made the learning and diving experience so worth everything! They make sure everything you have is top of the line ready to go. I can’t recommend this place enough if you’re looking to dive or learn in Roatan!

Couldn't have asked for a better experience! Super Instructor!!! - My husband and I had never tried sciba. We started our Open Water certification with Joel. He was very thorough, super patient, and made it easy to relax and have fun while making sure you got the material and took it all in. We were both very nervous and Joel was creative and kind in helping us adjust to all the new experiences. He made it very easy to follow his directions throughout the dives a clear and consistent habits and movement patterns that helped to reinforce all the lessons above the surface. He took his time as we repeated skills on the dives, and made sure we were REALLY learning for our future diving experiences. Even with all that, he made the dives into memorable tours or each reef are, pointing out the different kinds of fish and coral, answering questions, and recording it all for the most memorable start to a hobby I jave ever had! The whole crew of instructors and captains were great! I can't recommend them highly enough!!!

Amazing staff and gear! - I just got back from Roatan we had a fantastic experience with West Bay Divers. Barny was very friendly and accommodating for the dives we wanted to book and answering our many questions.
We did two dives with Jose and he was a blast, even when he wasn't our guide. He also provided me with really good constructive feedback as a beginner. I hope to see him there again next year!
I completed my Open Water and did seven dives total with Arturo and I can't say enough good things about him. I was so nervous the first day and he was very kind and patient. He did a wonderful job explaining things and pointing out hard-to-find creatures. He even found a seahorse! I did two adventure dives with him to go towards my Advanced and I hope he is there again next year to complete the certification with.
The rest of the guides/instructors, captain and crew were all very friendly, helpful and created an awesome atmosphere on each dive. We really appreciated the quality and condition of the gear we rented and how nice the boats are.
Overall this is a fun and safe dive shop. I'm really looking forward to coming back next year, but for longer!
