Great Day in Roatan - We had a great day! Everything went very smoothly, from our pick from the ship to our return. Our contact person even checked on us to see if everything was going ok, Highly recommend!

Fantastic day excursion away from cruise crowds! - Views are gorgeous. Golf manager very accommodating and fun to visit with! The course is challenging for an executive par 3. We had a great time!

Fun course.....but challenging! - This golf course is fun....but challenging!! The jungle swallows balls that go astray. You can play as slow or as fast as you want, as there are very few other golfers on the course. The first time around, we played slower as tried to nagivate a course we were not famiiar with. The second time, we played faster because we knew where the trouble was. It has beautiful views from a couple of holes high up near the upper road. Some greens were small so target golf was necessary. It is very green, with no water hazards. If in doubt, hit your ball short....as long is usually trouble. Each person in our group got one birdie. We each lost about 4 balls, but found a couple as well. It was a fun day and the staff were great to pick us up in a golf cart from our resort on West Bay.

Great time on a fun, challenging course - We had a wonderful time golfing this challenging par 3, nine-hole course. We stayed at Infinity Bay and Fernando came to pick us up in the golf cart. He was friendly and very generous with the golf balls when I asked for more (expecting to buy them). We had the course to ourselves and played it twice, once from each tee box to get a different experience. I recommend bringing your glove and a towel as my grip was slipping due to the heat making me sweat like mad. A fantastic time and we will return.

the BEST in Roatan! - My boyfriend and i stayed for one week at the Black Iguana Golf club and Villas and were so blown away with our experience. The staff was attentive and spoke excellent english, the food at the club house was amazing, Gabby, the housekeeper, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The golf course is beautiful with views of the ocean and jungle. The Villa was walking distance from West Bay, where we did any and everything imaginable from parasailing to snorkeling. We were able to take water taxis to the West End and back at any time. The security guard, William, was amazing and helped us grab a taxi any time we wished to explore the island beyond walking distance. The Villa was luxurious and made us feel both at home and on vacation all at once. Would highly recommend for both golfing and a place to stay.

An excellent way to get in a game of golf and still have time to hit the beach - In January 2020 I had the pleasure of playing Black Iguana. I was staying at the Infinity Bay which is just down the hill from the course. When I booked to play they sent down a driver in a golf cart to pick me up. The course was just being completed when I played and you can see that they put a lot of thought into the design. Actually the designers are Pete and Perry Dye if you are not familiar with those names they have designed some of the best courses around the world. The course is not flat so there is plenty of elevated greens. Since this par 3 no need for a driver, but your short game skills will be tested. That is what makes playing at Black Iguana so much fun, golfers and non-golfers will enjoy themselves and have fun. Play 9 holes and be down at the West Bay beach in 10 minutes. A great way to spend the day whether you are staying at another hotel or off the cruise ship for the day. The green fees included clubs, balls too! The day I was there took a caddy named Austin. While it is not mandatory to take a caddy he was very helpful especially reading the greens. There are a lot of other fun things to do on the island but if you want to play golf and still do some other things, I think you will enjoy Black Iguana

We golfed the Black... - We golfed the Black Iguana 9 hole course! The course is challenging and untraditional! It’s a good 45 minute drive from the cruise port and about 1/2 mile walk to exit cruise port to meet driver for transportation. Driver was late picking us up for the excursion however we were able to get in touch with the excursion company (Detour Roatan) with an assurance that he was on his way! The next time we are in Roatan we will try the Black Pearl course as it is closer to the port and a traditional 18 hole course.

Know what you are getting into. - I think as long as you know what you are getting into ahead of time you will have a good experience. The staff was very friendly but the unique course was very different than most of us are used to. Don't expect to use your full bag of clubs here. One hole was only 30 yards long and most were about 70 from the back tees. The longest I remember was 110. All the holes are very narrow and extremely hilly and if you veer off just a bit the ball is lost in the jungle. The greens tend to be fairly small but overall the course is kept in good shape. There are beautiful views from some of the tees and we had fun but I felt more like I had chipping practice than a real round of golf. A practice net is available, the clubs they give you older but ok (I wish they included a 60 degree) but the balls included in the rental package are very poor. We had fun but probably would look for more of a true course next time.
