Amazing experience for first time diver - West Bay Divers is the place to go if you’re diving in Roatan! Every staff member there is absolutely AMAZING! They are all so friendly, welcoming, patient and kind. We stayed at the Kimpton Grand Roatan where they put on a free introductory course and that’s where we met May. May was an absolute gem inside and out and was so patient teaching myself and my husband who was a first time diver. She explained everything so thoroughly and made him feel very comfortable in the water. So much so he was ready to book his first dive which we also went with May. We saw a turtle, nerve shark, eel and all the beautiful fish Roatan has to offer, along with a pilot whale sighting. It was truly spectacular, especially for my husband’s first dive. On our next dive we were with Mekela for both of our first two tank dives. We were a little worried with the weather that morning but Mekela and the other staff members had already planned ahead and moved the boats to the south end of the island where it was more protected. Once again we had a wonderful two dives and it was so magical. Mekela was also so patient and informative and really pointed out all the creatures hidden in the nooks and crannies, large and small. For our last two tank dive we were with Gaby who was such a sweetheart and again so so patient! It was a great last two dives for us especially because we saw eagle rays (which are my favorite). Our next vacation we plan to get certified and wouldn’t trust anyone else other than the staff at west bay divers to take us through it. Thank you all again for an amazing experience and making our honeymoon magical. Also a huge shoutout to our awesome boat captains Alex and Edwin (I hope I’m not getting the names wrong) who also made everything possible!

Incredible experience, made easy and safe - We did 3 dives over 3 days. My wife was nervous about the experience and had a number of concerns before we went. The dive instructor was phenomenal. He was patient with us as we worked through the skills and competent in dealing with issues and mistakes as they occured. And the things we saw. Eagle rays, stingrays, octopus, all kinds of coral and fish. It was a genuinely awe inspiring experience.

Great first time diving! - This was an amazing trip! We had the intro class and first dive with Joel and two more dives the next day with Kareem. They were great and professional! We had a wonderful time and felt it was a great bargain! They even took pictures for us for our anniversary.

Best of the best! - As two people who had never dove before, my husband and I were trepidatious about trying out diving. I don’t like open water swimming, and the prospect of coordinating my breathing under water made me nervous. I voiced my concerns to our instructor, May, who reassured me and made me feel calm, heard, and supported. Every step of the process was made easy, from learning basic equipment management, hand signals, and buoyancy control, to diving off the boat, descending into the water, and completing the dive. May made sure we were well versed in important safety aspects and thoughtfully pointed out sea life with her keen eye. We loved our first dive so much we ended up going back twice more, ending up with 4 dives total! From our instructor to the in house staff, everyone was welcoming and supportive. I can’t recommend West Bay Divers enough! Ask for May!! Bonus - ask for Juan from Deep Photos and he’ll take world class underwater pictures for memories that’ll last a lifetime (see pictures).

West Bay diver. - Our first time diving and Gaby took great care of us. She was patient and very clear with instructions made us feel safe and well taken care off. Thank you Gaby!!! I highly recommend them ypu wo t regret it.

Excellent discover scuba - Joel was a terrific guide. Super knowledgeable and patient. Instructed us well on the equipment, beach check out and then a great dive off the boat. Top notch, will definitely return! Ed R.

Diving in Roatan - We are semi new to diving this is our fourth and for some others ninth dive trip Maygham and Karim did a great job refreshing our knowledge. Helpful and very knowledgeable throughout the dive which was beautiful. Edwin, the captain and the photographer (cannot remember his name) were super nice and very helpful.

Effortless and enjoyable - This was our second time doing the private discover scuba experience and it was just as awesome as the first time. Our group of four dove with Peter and Jose, who were patient and kind (especially since one person in the group was very nervous), informative and fun. They made the experience effortless for us. They moved at jsut the right pace and helped us see the amazing underwater sights. West Bay Divers is truly a top notch organization and we will dive with them again, perhaps next year.

Scuba diving experience - Really enjoyed the scuba experience with Bastian he took his time explaining each step of the diving from a beginner perspective. I have been wanting to try scuba diving for the longest time and I’m glad I got to see small turtle, snapper, and African pompano, channel clinging crab. It was the best. Thank you Bastian

Bastiaan the superhero! - Bastiaan is a saint. My wife was very nervous about scuba and Bastiaan literally saved the day. She was fighting giving up and he was so patient, calm and reassuring. She ended up really enjoying it and we are actually going with Bastiaan again tomm. Bastiaan has so much knowledge and paired with life giving energy is perfect. The whole set-up at West Bay Divers is ideal with a laid back vibe.
