Kittawake experience - This was our 2nd dive trip for my son and here while at Grand Cayman. The kittiwake was a well planned dive and the guides were great. My only complaint was the snorkel trip my wife and Daughter did at the same time. It’s much too deep for god snorkeling but they still had a good time.

Great trip yet again but concerned about the upcoming price hikes - Enjoyed the snorkelling and friendliness and knowledge of the crew. This will easily have our families 15th activity of some description or other this year so we are somewhat taken aback by the size of the prices rises that are due imminently. At an average of 20 per cent- more in high season- this seems very excessive. This is really going to impact on who we might take our future trips with as we have been so happy to date with all our experiences.

Kittiwake snorkeling and Reef sail - Fun cruise. Kittiwake was neat but the reef snorkeling was very good. In the reef you could actually dive down 20' and look into caves of the reef. We had 39 guests and only two employees, Captain and a first mate. Probably needed one more employee for safety reasons but overall a great time.

Great snorkelling adventure - We were very lucky and only had 4 other snorkelers joining us on this very spacious catamaran. The crew were very knowledgable and gave us a safety talk at the beginning of the tour. Once we arrived at the wreck were advised of its history and told the best places to swim to for pictures. Whilst it was a bit deep for really clear pictures it was still a very interesting sight. We then went on to a small coral reef closer in shore, again we were told where to swim to and had ample time to explore and see the many colours of the coral and varieties of fish. Once back on board we were able to have a drink and relax in the sun while they sailed the catamaran peacefully back to the Westin. You do need to be a fairly confident swimmer, but life jackets are available if needed. I would advise using flippers for the wreck as we encountered a bit of a current which may be hard to swim against for a weak swimmer. Definitely a recommended trip.

Nice Boat, Professional Staff - We weren't expecting much on this one because we didn't have great weather. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and checked in quickly. I was happy with how nice the boat was; it was clean and well cared for - which you don't always get. I appreciated the communication from the captain (who was a woman - which was really cool to me) and her crew. The weather ended up not really being a factor because the visibility was good anyway. We had a really great time and I don't have anything negative to say at all about the experience. I would highly recommend it if you're into this kind of thing.

Loved this snorkeling adventure! - My husband and I did this snorkeling tour from the Westin 7-mile Beach. It was a 2.5 hour trip from beach and back. We left the Westin, picked up a few passengers at a nearby hotel, and then went to the Kittwake.
The Kittiwake was interesting, although probably much more interesting to an actual diver vs. those of us snorkeling. You could see a bit of the 250' long ship from the surface, but it is down at around 40 - 50' so you are seeing it from a bit far away. I found it to be very cool to see the ship buried in the sand, watch fish swim in and out of portholes, and generally ponder the process to sink the ship. However, it would be more interesting if I were scuba certified to be able to see it up close!
The reef was wonderful. This was one of those experiences where the more time you spent, the more you noticed. There was a lot of different marine life, and while I was hoping to see a sea turtle or other more "exotic" life, I just saw fish. But a lot of them!
The crew was engaging, helpful, and attentive. They have water coolers on the boat so if you bring your own bottle you can refill it, but they also have plastic cups. After the snorkeling is over, they have a cash bar on the boat, and also offer sodas and Gatorade for a small price (bring cash). They also put the sail up, which is fun if you haven't been on a sailboat before.
Overall would highly recommend. Glad we spent our afternoon on this trip!!

Snorkeling trip - We had learned about the Kittiwake's history a year ago on TV so we were excited to see it for ourselves.
We sailed out from the Westin on a nice catamaran ride to snorkel along a reef (not sure which one). Not a great amount of fish & water was a little on the rough side but it was nice. Then we went over to snorkel the Kittiwake. The water had calmed down a bit and was so clear it seemed like you could just reach out & touch it.
The crew was nice & had a cash bar so you could enjoy a cocktail on the way home.

Fun time, but not great snorkeling - The catamaran launched from the Westin beach which was very convenient for us. Expensive little tour which did not include any lunch or even an open bar. I guess the laws are different here than other parts of the Caribbean. We've done catamaran trips in Barbados and St. Martin and the Grand Cayman trip pales in comparison. The Kittiwake was interesting, but it was so deep snorkeling was somewhat useless. The reef nearby was decent, but not very exciting. It would be good if one has never seen the reefs before. However, I have to admit, the crew on board the boat was awesome. Very friendly and personable. But cash bar...seriously? For that price maybe giving 2 drinks per person would have been somewhat reasonable.

Great crew, mediocre snorkeling - I'm torn on this rating because the crew was excellent, and they certainly took care of us. However, it really doesn't make sense to snorkel the Kittiwake, because it's way too deep to make for a good snorkel. The reef was better because it was easier to see, but it was hard to see anything with so many amateur snorkelers kicking around. I had a couple of amateurs run right into me, one of them knocking my mask off. I finally got far enough away from most of them to have really good viewing, but it was a struggle.
So again: not the fault of the crew, but I didn't enjoy the snorkeling on this excursion.

Hope your event isn’t cancelled - If you use Red Sail Sports and go on the trip then you’ll probably have a good time. If your sail gets cancelled because of high wind (Feb 29,2020) and you booked it from their sales desk at The Kimpton Seafire then it might not be. Our Kittiwake & Reef Sail that was $172 was cancelled due to high wind. It is subject to a full refund. I was credited $77 back on my CC. I called them and they told me I should have gotten the other $95 credit from Seafire. I checked my statement on checkout from Seafire and there isn’t a credit. I called Seafire and they said they would check into it. Nothing. I called Red Sail back and they checked with Seafire again and told me I got a credit. I have sent about 8 emails and talked with Kimpton Seafire once and Red Sail Sports 4 or 5 times and can’t get a simple credit to my credit card that is correct. It shouldn’t be this hard.
