2days 1night on semi phinisi boat - Great tour. Our guide Faldus was excellent and the crew was fantastic. Komodo dragons, flying foxes, pink beaches and snorkeling. What else can I say. The food on the boat was very good. It was the perfect way for my wife and I to spend part of our 25th Anniversary trip. If I had to give one negative about our 2 days it would be the condition of the White Pearl. Needs some TLC she is showing her age.

Great 2D/1N boat tour to Komodo National Park - We (2 adults and 2 children) had a great 2D/1N boat tour to Komodo National Park on the boat named White Pearl. Pascal (fluent in English) and the crew looked very well after us and the food was great. We visited Padar Island for sunrise walk and the pink beach. Saw the Komodo dragons, flying foxes and did lots of snorkeling where we saw fish, a turtle and mante rays. Can highly recommend the tour and Pascal as the guide 🤩 - and the communication prior to the tour was very easy 😊

Boat not fit to purpose - The crew and guide (Pascal) were fine, and the food was very nice. But the boat itself was really not fit for tourists. The entire vessel was in poor condition, but the cabins were unlivable. Everything smelled of gasoline, the roar of the engines underneath was deafening (at night the crew even turned on the electric generator late at night which was pretty thoughtless given the racket it made). The cabins were also not clean — there were black spots on the sheets which appeared to be from debris from the ceiling, and when it rained rusty water dripped into our open suitcase and ruined some of my wife’s clothing. Ventilation was also very poor — we ended up taking a sheet up to the upper deck and sleeping in the open air. I was also disappointed that there was no effort made to make the upper deck comfortable—!there were two old beanbag chairs which got soaked at the first rain, no other chairs or loungers. So that space was unusable most of the time. In short, the amount of money taken from us was completely disproportionate to the quality of the service — they should invest in refurbishing the boat for the serious money collected.

Expensive - We made the decision to book this tour because we were “guaranteed” that it would be enough time to do all the sites we wanted to see. We decided to pay more to be on a private tour for this reason. However, on arrival the captain of the boat point blank refused and offered us two itineraries, each meaning we were missing out on locations important to us. This should have been communicated to us properly prior to our booking however it feels we were told what we wanted to hear to ensure we handed over the money. In terms of what we actually received, I am aware from friends who had previously done this trip the boat we were on was of a lower standard than pre-Covid, and we had issues when finishing up due to poor weather. This wouldn’t have been as big an issue had we not had the bigger issue regarding the itinerary. Whilst it was amazing to see the national park and the surrounding islands I do not feel that we received any extra benefit for choosing this company or paying to go privately. The good parts of the trip were all the places you are going to see and can do via anyone.
