Additional Information

Our slogging gang is looking for new recruits, so join Edward Shelby, a distant cousin of the real-life Birmingham gang, as he shows you around the city and teaches you the ropes of being a gang member in the late 19th century. Find out what it was like to walk in the streets the slogging gangs ruled at night and explore parts of the city not covered on our daytime tour. How did the gangs use the canals? How did alcohol add to the gang problem. What did the city do to try to control it? On this tour, you will discover the answers and experience four unique drinking establishments, from real ale pubs to gin palaces and cocktail bars. Participate in some fun activities, such as drinking games and a pub quiz, while learning about the impact of gangs and alcohol on the city. Our night tour is perfect for hen and stag nights, birthdays, team-building events, or a great way to meet new people.

Pub crawl with a difference! - My friend and I wanted something a bit different to do for a night out in Birmingham so we booked the Peaky Blinders Historical Walk - with pubs! I am so glad we did, Edward is a charming and very knowledgeable guy who gave us the history of the gangs in Birmingham along with other really interesting pieces of information about the city (in which I was born). It was also a great laugh as we had various stops along the way at different drinking venues. I would definitely recommend this if you have a couple of hours free.

Fun and information about the Birmingham gangs... - Besides a lot of information and fun acting about the gangs in Birmingham it was also a pleasant walk with pleasant fellow participants and a skilled guide, who explained the historical differences with the 'Peaky blinders' very well, I hope to return to Birmingham next year and do the other tour, I recommend this tour to everyone!

Bringing Peaky Blinders and Birmingham history to life. - Ed is an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging tour guide. He shows you some amazing bars while he weaves the history of the gangs of Birmingham and wider England into the mix. Great way to experience the city, enjoy a beverage, and come away with some knowledge of the city.

Great Pubs and Guide - Great tour with some lovely pub stops. There were a bit range of pubs including a cocktail bar, gin palace and real ale pub. We lucked out and ended up with a great group and the guide gave us suggestions of where to go afterwards although the last pub was so nice and had live music and food so we ended up staying there all night

So much fun! - I did two of Edwards tours on the same weekend and learnt alot of different things on each. This was my favourite of the two and I loved the pubs. We had a great crowd which really helped but Edward was charming and helped bring the group together.

Disappointed 😞 - Arrived for the tour. No one was there, rang the number provided and told the tour had been cancelled weeks ago. Yet money was taken three days before. The money was refunded straight away but we feel very disappointed that we were let down like this.
