Miss this at your peril!! - We took the Leeds Food Tour one Saturday in November and had 4 absolutely different, yet delicious, culinary experiences. There were 2 others that we couldn't get to in time, but 4 was enough - Italian arancini, Tunisian sandwich and Shwarma kebab were complemented by a stop off for Yorkshire cheeses, chutneys and honey. Miss this at your peril!!

You will not be disappointed - Book now - I have not stopped talking about your experience since I left the last venue and have told everyone to get a tour booked as they will not be disappointed. I went on the Hidden Gems tour and everywhere we visited totally met the brief which was no mean feat given I live just a stones throw from Leeds. The quality, quantity, variety, value for money and organisation of the tour and food was 10 out of 10. It well exceeded my expectations. Lynda was a fabulous and knowledgeable guide. Thank you for a fab afternoon. I will be booking again for another tour.

Such a fun way of spending a day - We bought this tour through Buy-a-Gift, which was a bit fiddly to redeem, but Ellen at Leeds Food tours was very patient in helping sort this out. It's best to have a prompt 12noon start. DELHI WALA FOOD, right by the train station was first. Excellent and really original dishes. Fantastic taste and gracious host. STUZZI was next. That really was a hidden gem as you are up in the roof of the Grand arcade. Fun food. SWEET SAEEDA in the market was next. We took out sandwich away to eat later. Very tasty. THE CHEESY LIVING co in the Corn Exchange was our favourite. A cute little place with a delicious cheese board with pickles and relish. SQEW was busy and very friendly, finishing off with ROBERTO GELATO back in the market. Fantastic. We had such a fun day. Usually, Leeds for us is shopping and grabbing a bite to eat on the go - but to enjoy the city in this was was a really fun way to spend a day. We will definitely do other food tours. xx

A great way to spend a Saturday in Leeds - We were four friends looking for something different to do, and we absolutely loved the tour. We really recommend it to anyone to do. We loved the “lock in” in the Chilli Shop 🌶️ as well as all the other stops along the way.

Perfect Saturday afternoon - Really, really enjoyed the afternoon - met Linda our host for the tour outside Queens Hotel at 11.45. We were 4 friends but there were also other people on the tour with us which just added to the enjoyment. Linda was a great host, very informative about Leeds architecture and history and also great fun - we visited 7 venues some of which were just a tasting/snack but also got lots of food in other places - all were independent who were passionate about what they were doing - I certainly had enough to eat. There are no drinks included on this tour so you have to buy any alcohol you want. There is a little walking around the city so wear comfy shoes. We visited the Chilli Shop which I personally loved and they even created a special gift for the person whose Birthday we were celebrating!! It was such a nice touch. I would do this tour again without a thought, it was a fab afternoon and I can’t wait to get another group together. Cannot say enough how fab Linda was.

Great variety and value - A really enjoyable tour around some lovely independent businesses. A great variety of stops, some for tasters and others more substantial food providers. Lots of fun and food with Ellen, who also talked about the history of the area as we walked around, pointing out sights and revealing legends too. Very good value for money.

Hidden Gems food tour - We went on the hidden gems tour on 6th July as part of my daughters hen do celebrations. Would totally recommend, Lynda was a great guide and we had a lot of fun. Lots of quirky places that I had never been to before despite living around Leeds for many years. Nice touch was the little extras that were added to the tour, tailored to the people on our tour . Just the right number of people in our group. My husband very jealous so may be going again as I understand there are lots of different venues! Thanks again for making our day so memorable.

Underwhelmed - We booked a self-guided 'Hidden Gem' tour, not knowing where we would be visiting or what we would be eating. Our first stop was at Delhi Wala where we could pick a dish from the Street Food section ( £6.50), although there were quite a few options that weren't included. Having said that, the food was tasty and it was a good start. Second up was Stuzzi where we had an arancini each (£5 - not sure if that was the cost for one or two). Really tasty. Drinks here quite pricey. Third up was Sweet Saeeda where you had a choice of sandwiches (£6.50) but it was one to share. Although it was nice it was very small. Next was The Cheesy Living Co at the Corn Exchange. This was excellent and the only one I would return to. The platter was so well presented, the cheese and accompaniments were excellent. The owner (?) was lovely and the wine we had with it was really good. No idea what the value was. Next up was Sqew. Great friendly staff and a gut busting portion (about £12 each I think) , although not the kind of food we usually eat and I definitely wouldn't again. Kebab meat, chips and salad isn't really showcasing a 'Hidden Gem'. Our final stop, which we were looking forward to, was Roberto Gelato. However, when we got there at 4.30 it was already closed. Really disappointed as we had read it closed at 5pm. Although I know we could use the token for this on another day we don't live in Leeds and had travelled there specifically for the tour so that isn' an option. Overall it was an okay afternoon but, for a self-guided tour, was very overpriced. With two of the venues in the market and two others being kebab meat and Indian Street food, I don't see how this was different to the actual street food tour. I'm sure Leeds has far better venues to showcase. Wouldn't recommend the tour but would definitely recomment The Cheesy Living Co.

Harrogate food tour - not worth it !! - This is actually for the Harrogate tour but I can't select that option Me and my wife purchased the Harrogate tour, and I want to warn people that the £95 paid for both of us for 5 stops, isn't worth it. We were eager to see what the next stop entailed, but when you get to a venue and get a £3 sausage roll, or half a kebab wrap it is kind of deflating. We equated that the real value of the items you get comes to less than £25 each, and whilst we wouldn't expect to get £47.50 value , we also spent over £35 extra at the venues as you have to purchase drinks at most spots. It's an expensive day out. In future we will just plan our own stops and save alot of money doing so.
