Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi
Lake Bunyonyi - Upon your arrival at the airport, our professional guide/driver will greet you and provide a briefing about the entire trip. You will then be transferred to Lake Bunyonyi, arriving in the afternoon. After checking in at Bunyonyi Overland Camp, we will have lunch and take some time to relax. Later in the afternoon, we will embark on a boat cruise along the lake. During this boat ride, we will visit some of the lake’s islands, where we can observe numerous water birds and enjoy performances by traditional dancers and pygmies. We will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Gorilla Trekking
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park - Today, you will have the opportunity to track the rare mountain gorillas. After receiving a briefing from your ranger guide at the UWA offices, you will begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This activity can take a few hours or an entire day, depending on the location of the gorillas. Keep an eye out for other forest species such as buffaloes, elephants, black-fronted duikers, and bushbucks. Note: Remember to bring your packed lunch.
Standing just meters away from these distant relatives of humans as they eat, rest, play, and bond with their young is a humbling experience. Follow the mountain gorillas as they roam freely in the impenetrable forest, discovering their beautiful natural habitat and the many species they share it with. You will track one of the gorilla groups near your accommodation in Bwindi, depending on availability. After this rewarding experience, you will return to your accommodation for an overnight stay. You can rest your tired legs and enjoy a restorative massage after the gorilla trek.
Drive Back to Entebbe
Entebbe - After breakfast, we will drive back to Kampala, including a stop for lunch en route and a visit to the equator if you missed it on the first day of your trip. Your guide will drop you off at your accommodation in Kampala or at Entebbe for your flight. Thank you for choosing Bright Safaris Uganda. Have a safe journey home, and we hope to host you again.
