Gorgeous bike ride from Westport to an island. Photos - This was one of the most beautiful bike tours among eight days in Western Ireland. The last half was dominated by mountains, sea, sheep, huge landscapes and hardly any people until we arrived at the island. Paul was a fantastic host and very kind person. We had a small problem with the bike about halfway into the trip and he promptly came with a truck and replaced the entire bike with a new one that worked Perfectly! Most importantly, I had rented a fiddle in Galway, hoping to play in a music pub. He told me about McCarthy‘s, which had House musicians that invited guests on Sunday evenings. I played for four hours with them. And it was one of the highlights of our entire one month trip to Ireland.

Highly recommend - We had an absolutely brilliant time on this beautiful Greenway cycle path. I’d highly recommend Paddy & Nellys for bike hire. Paul helped us all the way from start to finish. Electric bikes were perfect for the Greenway and we had great instruction/communication with Paul. We will definitely book with Paddy & Nelly’s Bike Hire for our next trip. Clare & Tina

Great "Paddy & Nelly Bike Hire" experience in Westport Mayo Ireland - My wife and I rented hybrid bikes from ‘Paddy & Nelly Bike Hire’ in Westport Mayo Ireland today. It’s on Church Street, right around the corner from the Wyatt Hotel (Octagon round about), and within easy access to the Great Western Greenway (greenway rail trail in County Mayo, Ireland. It is 42 kilometers long and begins in Westport and ends in Achill). We are long time riders, but never used hybrid bikes. Paul was there to explain them, give us a demo ride and show us the local bike trails. He was very professional and patient - it was a great experience for us and we'd like to thank Paddy & Nelly's, and especially Paul. Thanks, James & Nancy Dougherty Berwyn, Pa.

Achill- westport trip - Great services and friendly staff , really enjoyed the day out on the bikes getting the shuttle bus to achill and cycling back , would recommend.

Beautiful stress free day adventure - Westport to Achill via the Greenway Trail was fantastic. I opted to bike both ways but shuttle options are a great way to avoid the predictable headwind on the way out.

Peaceful countryside ride - Paddy and Nelly were extremely accommodating. Our tour was early in the week when tourism is slow. We were the only ones for the day and they drove us to our drop off spot. We rented the e bikes and had a great ride. Completed in under 4 to 5 hours. Had lunch along the way. A perfect way to spend the day.

Positive - We received a very warm welcome. The cycling routes were absolutely beautiful. We saw a lot. German and English spoken. Always happy to come back.

Awesome - It was a wonderful trip! Thank you hope to see you next year. The owners had very good tips for us around the route.

Shoddy customer service - Cancelled by email less than 24 hours notice. Very poor customer service overall if that’s how they do business. Maybe it’s a good thing as €65 per person to rent a bike is a rip off in hindsight. Based on my experience I’d advise to book elsewhere.

Broken Down Bikes and Bad Customer Service - We were very dissatisfied with the service, the lack thereof, the condition of the bicycles and the overall lack of information for this excursion. We reserved 3 bikes for the Great Western Greenway eBike tour, through Viator (USA) well in advance. When we arrived at the bike shop, right on time, we were surprised to find the bike shop closed. About 10 minutes late, the doors were opened by a woman who was not very approachable. We learned she did not have our reservation, for whatever reason, and we were told this same situation happened the day before. Apparently, there was a miscommunication between Viator (USA) and this bike shop. We should have walked away then. She took photos of our reservation and agreed to sort it out later. She haphazardly fitted us for bikes. Despite our questions about the information we were provided at the time of booking, she provided 3 bikes that she randomly chose to put us on. None of the bikes fit us properly, and only 1 bike was in good condition. She had us ride the bikes for about 1/2 of a city block and we made adjustments to the seats. However, we were unable to adjust the seat on the bike I was "assigned." We were told she only had these bikes since she didn't have our reservation. We were also told the shuttle service to Achill Island wasn't reserved in advance, so we would have to ride our bikes to Ackill Island and take Public transportation back to Westport. She refunded the cost of Public Transportation, but didn't give us any information other than that. She didn't provide maps, as part of the booking, she gave us verbal instructions that turned out to be incomplete. She made a point to tell us the bikes HAD to be left at the Achill Island Hotel by 6:00 pm. No other options and no information was given for emergency assistance. After the excursion, I reached out to Viator to express my displeasure and asked for a portion refund or credit. Viator responded after speaking to the bike shop, and we have no recourse because "bikes were provided" and therefore our excursion was completed.
