Amazing time swimming right next to whale sharks! - My family of 7 loved our day swimming with whale sharks! Our friendly guide, Alexandra picked us up at our resort on time and went out of her way to ensure we each swam with sharks and had a great time! The moment next to the shark was a bucket list item for me that I will never forget. Truly amazing creatures and they get your right next to them! We enjoyed our snorkel near Isla mujeres after and saw tons of beautiful fish. The location where we stopped to eat and hang out at Plata Norte is gorgeous. Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!!

Incredible Day - Our visit was incredible, the guide Alexandra Komar was very professional, we were lucky to find a whale shark. swimming in the water of Isla Mujeres which was great. It was a long day but it was worth it.

incredible and magical - Superb day with César our guide who allowed us to discover this wonderful fish. There were also around thirty of them and by moving away from the other tourists we were able to swim alone with them!!! They even let us go back in the water a 3rd time. Very attentive also to those who are seasick and ensures everyone's safety. Amazing experience and animal friendly. I recommend going with him.

Amazing Experience - My wife and I took the private whale shark tour out of Cancun and it was incredible. The guide Nuria and the Captain Pablo were extremely courteous and a great team at spotting the whale sharks and getting us in the water quickly to see these breathtaking creatures up close and personal. Highly recommend taking this tour!

Whale sharks with a personal touch! - This was an amazing day. We were picked up at our airbnb right on time and our driver, Lily, was great! Our tour guide, Pablo, was amazing with the kids, and very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Captain Popu and sailor Pedro were awesome, negotiating the other swimmers and boats, and encouraging and supportive. Pedro took special care with my mom who was terrified of the ocean and had no intention of going in, but even she did and she loved it! The Whale Sharks were unbelievable! You get so close and can see so much, and the crystal clear Caribbean water is a remarkable shade of blue. Then we went snorkeling at Isle Muertas and saw huge parrot fish, Sargent fish, and much more. We ended with Ceviche and bubbly. It was a remarkable day we will never forget!!

Excellent day with three swims with the majestic whale shark - We had a superb day. We were picked up at 5.00 from Tulum. Driver was delayed to 5.30 but communicated clearly about delayed arrival times. Our guide Gonza could not have been nicer. We got to Cancun at 7, had some breakfast and hired wetsuits ($20 each but much easier to swim in than a life jacket). We left at 8am and got to the whale shark area at about 9am. We were lucky enough to find three whale sharks - there were up to 8 boats at times, but it was well coordinated and boats took their turn to drop 2 people at a time (plus local guide) in front of the shark - you could then swim parallel to the shark for a short period. You only had 2-3 minutes with them but this means that there are not too many people swimming at any one time. I would imagine in peak season it might be a scramble for boats - once a shark is identified the boats share their GPS location with the other boats. It was not too busy in August luckily. We also briefly saw dolphins and a large turtle on the trip. It was an excellent day including a reef snorkel and lunch with wine at the shores of Isla Mejeuras. After the event in the way home we were shown lots of GoPro videos and pictures from our day taken by Gonza and the swimming guide. We were charged $60 for the download - seems very high but a real memory of a fabulous event. Could only have been improved if our guide could have briefed us a bit more in the biology of the whale sharks. Don’t forget to take lots of environmentally friendly sun screen - the boat was boiling hot with limited shade. Would recommend Ecotours.

One of a kind experience - Overall it was an experience I will never forget, swimming with whale sharks had been something I wanted to do since I was a kid. Our guide, Nuria, was amazing, and her paired up with our boat captain and diver made a great team. Everyone on board from EcoTours was very knowledgeable, and make your trip as smooth as possible, and we swam with 3whale sharks! PRO TIP: USE THE DRAMAMINE. Even if you think you have a strong stomach, I still highly recommend taking it because you travel out to open sea and the waves/current is unpredictable and can still be rough. The crew is very experienced though, and we were able to navigate the choppy waves, just had to go a little slower. Overall, it was a great experience, and got to spend lunch at Playa Norte at Isla Mujeres which is beautiful
