Gin heaven! - Was treated to a tour and cocktail making course as a birthday surprise. Luke our guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and friendly and we were so impressed by all the info he shared with the group. We then had our masterclass in the making of gin cocktails. Sadly I can't remember the name of our 'tutor' but he was equally superb. It was a truly fantastic experience and cannot recommend it highly enough.

A lovely birthday treat - My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the distillery. We'd booked the 1hr 30 mins tour which started with a gin and tonic (we had the choice of 3 different gins), a short video about the distillery and then the tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the site was well maintained. Afterwards we went to the Mill Bar which had nice outside seating by the river. I had a complimentary cocktail for my birthday as I'd registered with them online prior to our visit. The staff were very attentive and professional. A great way to spend a couple of hours.

Avoid open toe shoes! - We visited the gin factory and enjoyed the tour, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable and I was surprised how interactive it is. I thought we’d get a can of g&t as we wandered around but we got to pour our own cocktails from a choice of 3 flavours and I requested lemonade instead of tonic which was fine! When we arrived at the reception there was a sign saying ‘no open toed shoes allowed in the silt house’ and I was wearing sandles but when it came to this part of the tour they offered me a pair of plimsoles to wear! Nothing was too much bother and I throughly enjoyed it. I would totally recommend the combined tour and cocktail masterclass for a fabulous day out!

Stellar birthday treat with Stella! - Arrived a day early for our distillery tour! Not a great start to the birthday treat. However, staff were fabulous and gave us some options of what we could do in the area. We decided to visit the Watership Down Inn just down the road - lovely. Arrived 10 minutes late on the actual tour date due to traffic, but again, staff were great and got us to join the group. Shai was our tour guide and she was fabulous. She made the tour interesting and was engaging with the group answering ad hoc questions as and when we fired them at her. I can thoroughly recommend this very GINteresting experience (sorry) and the gift shop, which is lovely and very reasonably priced. This tour was bought as a birthday gift but I don’t think you even need a special occasion to visit this iconic distillery.

Well I had a lovely morning! - Finally got round to cashing in a xmas experience voucher for a distillery tour on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year. Starting at 10.30am with a gin was a pretty good start if you ask me. Venue is interesting and has history, the screening area is probably a lot of people’s dream cinema room, the sculptural glass houses are truly art and the tour guides were personable and happy to answer any questions. As a gin drinker I learnt a surprising amount about flavours and infusing. Didn’t go into the still rooms, due to the heat, but could view through the glass. Only niggle was that a group of people on our tour really weren’t that interested in any of it, and they’d brought a toddler which seemed a silly idea. Stayed for lunch in the cafe with a couple of toasted bagels which were really tasty and a cocktail (rude not to really) before a look in the shop. Oh by the way, they do free samples, good thing the boyfriend had already agreed to chauffeur!

Good fun, glad we have done it but not something we would jump at to do again… - We got this tour super cheap which probably made this better than it could have been if it had cost much more. I’m not saying it’s bad, it’s good fun but it could be far far better. The start is really great; you get to pour your own drink & sit in a cinema watching a short video about Bombay. Really great intro to the tour so left us with high expectations. *DO NOT READ THE NEXT PART IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS!!!* The cinema screen lifts revealing the glass houses (the idea was 100% taken from Harry Potter studios if you have ever been!) This was certainly pretty cool 😁 We were on the 4.30pm tour on Friday 16th August, 2024. Inside the distillery we were greeted by our host (apologies I cannot remember his name) & we were taken round different areas. I’m not saying our host wasn’t friendly or knowledgable because he certainly knew EVERYTHING! Which was cool, however having someone talk a million one miles an hour at you for 1.5 hours is a tad intense! After 15 mins of what we felt like being lectured at we started to lose interest. We just wanted to have a chat about the place to start, then left to roam areas/read signs at our pace & perhaps re-grouped again towards the end for a final chat & drink before leaving. It was so intense that the only thing I really took away from the tour was that gin is taken away in un-identifiable containers to avoid it being hijacked 😂 We did enjoy some drinks afterwards and the grounds are so so beautiful. Some of the staff in the bar clearly need more training (not their fault) and we found the lady who introduced us to the tour friendly but quite (not to be rude I just can’t think of better wording) ‘a know it all’. Overall glad we did it, was interesting and good fun but could be improved when it’s compared to other gin tours we have done.
