Take it to the limit. - The elevation changes causing weather to change in each change. Obviously the sights and views. The suspension bridge views were magnificent. The tour guide was knowledgeable and comedic with a vast knowledge of history.

There is no other option that really makes any sense - If you're looking at the excursions you're probably already planning on going to Alaska, so you've already made good life decisions. When you get to Skagway there is a lot of options for excursions, whatever you do, make sure you take a trip up into the Yukon, it is incomparable to anything imagination or pictures could muster. Now the important bit. The most popular way to see the Yukon seemed to be the train, though I am unbelievably grateful that we choose to skip the train in lieu of the bus tour. I'll tell you what I heard of the train and why the bus was better. First, don't bother booking this through the cruise ship, they add no value and the tour companies make their money from serving the cruise customers and ensure you're able to get back to the boat on time. As for the train, it sounded like you boarded it, ride to one of a few stops depending on the excursion length you booked and then they take you back. No commentary, no stops through out other than your planned one, not a lot of opportunity for pictures or just to experience it. The van tour was great, picked up right by the ships, we had maybe 10 people on a bus that could probably hold 50-100. We had Mike as our tour guide and he was phenomenal. Born and raised, he knew the area very well, and was able to bring us to many amazing places, he was a real character and really made the tour incredibly enjoyable. We were sworn to secrecy so I can't divulge every detail, but suffice it to say that Skagway Tours definitely went above and beyond, and is well worth your trip. On top of all that, it's one of the least expensive tours and we were able to stop frequently, get out of the van and just stand and absorb the majestic expanse around you.

Highly recommend this operation - This started off as a great tour. Reasonable price, great driver/guide, and interesting itinerary. However, the bus had a mechanical problem thirty minutes into the excursion and it took an hour for a replacement bus. By then, there wasn't enough time to complete the entire itinerary. However, our guide did the best to show us as much as possible. In addition, the tour company refunded 100% of the cost within 2-3 days. I can't really expect anymore of a tour operator than that.

This is the tour you want to be on….. - Highlight for our stop in Skagway: on time extra sized bus took full time exploring town, stops on highway through summit and suspension bridge. Bonus is your tour guide Mike. Born x bred local, engaging, insightful, colorful. Mikey is that dude. Buy him a beer. Worth the time and money. Do the train in morning, absolutely do this tour in afternoon.

This is a must! - This is a Great excursion. Beautiful scenery. Was early May and just beginning to thaw. Waterfalls were beginning to flow if not in shade of another mountain. The suspension bridge is a must to walk across. I do not like heights but the beauty and majesty of the area makes it worth it.

Lots of laughs and great photos! - Feefo Reviews Logo English (United Kingdom) Customer Experience Michael Boteler2 minutes ago ' Anyone who loves photography, beautiful views, and laughing, this is for you ' Where do I even begin? First off, our guide's name was Mike. Mike was SO funny and welcoming. My wife and I were laughing the entire excursion. At all the stops we made, he would offer to take a picture of us in the scenery... The first time he did this, he took a quick selfie of himself as a joke. We found out hours later when we were going through all the photos and we thought it was hilarious. Beyond our fantastic guide, the stops for photos were amazing. Mike admitted that the stops depend on weather, how many other guides are there already, time, and a few other reasons. So this means he changes the destinations of our pit photo stops along the way so we have full privacy to take our photos without being cramped! It was great! All through the trip, Mike gave us wonderful stories and histories not only about Skagway but of the locations we visited. The suspension bridge is really great, it is in Canada, so bring your passports, and it's a bit of a drive, but it's all a wonderful experience. We made an impromptu stop because Mike spotted mountain goats, so he lent out his binoculars and we all stood and watched the animals scale the side of the mountain! If you are looking for an excursion that will make you laugh, give you stories and history, go to off-the-trail photo locations, and have an all-around blast of a time, choose this excursion. You WILL NOT regret it.

Skagway tours. - We found gold on this tour. Mike, our driver and tour guide grew up local in Skagway. His experiences, knowledge and humor were icing on the cake of the incredible Alaskan, British Columbia, and Yukon scenery.
