A must do if in Wicklow - Three of us, 2 adults plus a 17 year old really enjoyed the afternoon looking around the Gaol. We did the VR thing first which was the best part, but the whole place was great. Lots of board’s explaining but also lots of spoken information if you can’t be doing with lots of details. Very atmospheric and a bit spooky. The daughter kept smelling rotten meat- I’ve been telling her it’s the ghosts 😄 Staff were very helpful and informative.

Great Day Out - We had a very nice time here.The tour is very interesting with olenty of insights into the lives of the inmates.I liked the use of the audio information when you entered the cells. The staff are very friendly and it is well worth the €12.50 entry.

Well worth a visit - Went on a day trip with the Ballyfermot sister shed, we had a fantastic day from start to finish very informative enjoyable experience- we stayed for lunch and the ladies accommodated us in a separate room as their was 19 of us- the menu was extensive the food was fabulous fresh and a great price and the service was outstanding from our servers both male and female - I would highly highly recommend this tour and cafe

Great experience - The Goal was very informative, had lots of information about the inmates who had been there. The building was clean and tidy and well maintained. Would definitely recommend if visiting Wicklow. Also the cafe attached to the Goal was delicious.

Atmospheric History of Wicklow Gaol! - Brilliant , staff so friendly and warm made the experience even better virtual tour the highlight, if you love history this is for you ! it takes you an atmospheric history through the centuries of the Gaol.

Historic Wicklow Gaol - Wow, we loved it. it we really felt we were stepping back in time! We were able to take our time and really soak up the history. It is all well presented. The stories were also interesting, and we even finished our visit to the shop and cafe for lunch.

Fascinating place to visit - We visited Wicklow Gaol with two eleven year old boys. Have meant to visit this place for years. We were met by Mary (Sarah) who was in costume and was kind, informative and knowledgeable about the gaol. The history of this place is like a microcosm of Irish history over the last 300 years or so. After the VR tour, its a hands-on self guided exploration of the building. The exhibits are excellently presented and very atmospheric, sometimes poignant. I'd highly recommend this tour. Only one thing, the VR tour features a hanging and some gore, so smaller kids could give that a miss, but everything else is fantastic. Well done to the staff and volunteers.

Great experience - We really enjoyed the Wicklow Gaol tour and the virtual tour made it even better. Really worth a visit if in the area. The 5 of us learned alot

History brought to life - Thanks to the storytelling of real people that were locked up in Wicklow jail, we got a feel of life back in the 1700's and 1800's. Highly recommended with teens!

Authentic Historical Experience - We loved the experience..it really brings alive the history of the place and we really enjoyed every minute and the breakfasts at jailers rest are amazing.
