Worst Experience Ever - First, my excursion was cancelled and rescheduled for another day. We rode a banana type boat out for about 45 minutes when they stopped and indicated the float boat was leaking air. We would have to immediately turn around and head back to the dock. Well, instead of going to the nearest shore/hotel/beach and drop us off for our safety, the driver proceeded to speed ridiculously back to the dock. We were riding against the waves so bad, we were airborne multiple times. As we were straddled in the banana boat, I ended up breaking my vertebrae at T12 due to the multiple crashes into the waves without any air holding up the boat. I didn't realize this, but was in so much pain, they moved me to the back of the sinking boat and offered me Advil! We reached the dock and they assisted me off the boat, but did not help me walk back to the streets in town. In fact, they told me to hurry so they could get the boat to the repair shop. I had to contact an ambulance and be taken to the hospital. Just FYI - had to stay in a Curacao hospital for 7 days until I could get an air ambulance to fly me back to the states for proper treatment. Total disregard for the safety of all persons. I would not ever schedule this. Plus, have not received a refund. I would provide a negative rating if I could.

Lasting injury- this tour is not for everyone, and very bad for some - I took this tour back in March of 2024, and held out writing this review. I hate leaving bad reviews, but a friend convinced me that in this case, it would be more like a public service. Most importantly, this trip is NOT for people who are overweight, have motion issues, have bad backs, or any sort of medical infirmity. The boat is basically an amphibious assault vehicle. There are about 5 regular seats in the stern, and the rest of the seats are 6 inch benches you have to straddle. The captain introduced us to the boat by telling us he called it the “rip ride rocket,” and that he drove it like a roller coaster, none of which was in the Trip Advisor description. And he wasn’t kidding. He steered directly at every single wave or rise he could, sending the boat up diagonal, and then crashing back down, literally hundreds of times over the course of the five hour trip. Maybe thousands. Sitting on those straddle benches, all of the force was centered pretty much on one’s butt and uppermost thighs, and quickly became immensely painful. Imagine riding a horse at full gallop for 5 hours, having not ridden a horse since you were a kid, and having woken up that day with the expectation that you'd bought a ticket for a carriage ride. By the time we were back on land, I limped my way back to my hotel and my ibuprofen. Before long, I discovered that beyond soreness, I was pretty badly hurt. My doctor believes I had a severely bruised tailbone, which made it extremely difficult to stand up, every single time, for the next several months, and still affects me when I have been sitting for too long now, almost 6 months later. I wish this was the only negative thing I had to say about this tour, but unfortunately it isn’t. A few other lowlights: -boat arrived to meeting place 30 minutes late. -stays at each destination were listed as 40 minutes each, in reality were about 20-25. -captain gave almost no notice when he was about to start moving, resulting in everyone having to grab whatever seat they were closest to and hold on until we stopped at the next destinations. Things like snacks and putting on another layer of suntan lotion were at your on risk. - there was a woman on the tour who could not swim, but told me she had been assured over the phone by the operators that they could help her see sea turtles, which was all she wanted. However, when we got to the sea turtle stop, and captain, while he did help her float, only had her just off the boat, about 40 meters from the main area the turtles hung out, and didn’t wear a mask, so he was unable to help her look. If a few of us hadn’t come nearby to scout for turtles as they passed, and spotted a few, she almost certainly would have fully wasted her money and day, or rather had them wasted. I will note that there were a few people on this tour who seemed to be having a blast with the rough waves, and didn’t mind the other issues I mentioned. That’s great. And the destinations for this trip- the blue room, sea turtle beach and the isolated beach- were all very nice. Go see them! But be very cautious before booking with this company.

Do not book! - Do not book this trip. The stress started upon arrival. The group was a mix of cruise and non-cruise people. The boat was 30 minutes late. As we waited on the pier, the cruise folks were becoming more and more concerned about getting back in time for embarkment and said they planned on asking the excursion crew to cut the tour short. This is as we continued to wait for our boat. When the boat finally arrived - 30 minutes late - we saw a high speed boat with very limited, saddle-style seating pull up to pier. The tour was so booked that the crew - who was insisting that there were enough seats - were moving coolers and telling people to jump over coolers to reach a back bench. The boat had no shade and was bouncing up and down in a dramatic way as it pulled into the pier. Questions about safety were met with pushback, defensiveness, and a reminder that there were no refunds. I would not trust this tour company with anything, especially not my family.
