Great full day tour of Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown with an awesome guide! - Fantastic full day with an amazing amount of information covered regarding Jamestown, Yorktown, and the Revolutionary War era. Matt was an absolutely wonderful guide and really took the time to get to know each person on the group often involving young kids, teens, and adults in the learning experience! The lunch at the Jamestown Settlement cafe offered food choices reminiscent of the era such as stews or traditional fare such as burgers, pizza, hot sandwiches, salads, and other sides. It was a very good option and pleasantly surprising. Highly recommend this tour. Plan to be on the tour at least 8.5 hrs. It’s a full day. Coach bus was brand new and extremely comfortable.

Best tour guide ever! - The bus driver, Matt, was amazing. He was funny and very intelligent, resulting in a great ride. The facilities that we visited are first class, and Matt accentuated the information in those museums. The trip lasted from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, but we enjoyed every second.

A Great, Safe Tour of Jamestown and Yorktown - We were the last to meet the tour group, but we got to sit in the very front seat of the brand new tour bus! Matthew took us on tiny winding roads to the Jamestown Museum, talking all the time about his family's farm on the James River. We were early for the opening hour, so we paused at a scenic spot briefly. He was a good and very cautious driver, taking the huge bus where only a car seemed likely to fit. We were the first group to enter the museum and many others followed, mainly school groups. We had time to see many exhibits in the museum, including the two ships docked at the pier. The lunch at the museum was good and allowed many choices. My wife helped me choose since I was delayed in a movie, and I was well fed before we left. I was dealing with a broken back and favored exhibits where I could remain seated in the electric cart I was given. Matt continued to comment on the history of the area as he drove us to the Yorktown Museum which continued the story of America's growth. I was disappointed the the Yorktown Museum did not have electric scooters for the handicapped, or not enough, at least. My dear wife located a wheel chair, but it was hard to manage, and we didn't see much of this museum. We went on to see the redoubt where the battles ended and the Victory Column before returning us to Williamsburg still talking the history of the triangle. He was a bit repetitious, especially in apologizing for delays and his inability to say and do more with us. I wanted to say, "Just tell us. We're ready!" All in all, I'd say we had a better than average tour by a really nice guide. I'd go again!

Good tour, but needs a little tuning…. - Wife and i self guided our tour of Yorktown and Williamsburg in 2016 and thought we did a successful job of it. We had a sibling reunion comprising of 8 adults meeting at Williamsburg for a week and thought this was a great tour to do as 1. We could do it altogether in one vehicle, 2. nobody had to drive and 3. make decisions on where to go next and how long to spend at each place. That part was successful. The trip was good, though got a little long at the end. The last stop at Yorktown was a little long. We and other tour mates were all ready to leave a half hour before we did. Tour itself. Format was good. Bus was clean and comfortable. But, and this is based on collective comments on our group of eight and some of the other people on the bus: 1. We were told the tour would start at 8am. Bus did not arrive until 8:20am. 2. Windshield was dirty and streaky even though there had been no precipitation in the area for a week. 3. John the tour guide/driver liked to tell personal family anecdotes and give good restaraunt reviews of restaraunts he liked and told us not to go to restaraunts that he had a bad experience at. We all thought this was unprofessional. It could have been better if all the anecdotes had been of historical nature on the subject of the reason of the tour. We might have ignored mentioning the dissing restaraunt reviews in this review….
