- Las Vegas - During the tour we will have an initial safety briefing / training on how to properly paddle in a kayak. Usually this time takes anywhere from 10-15 minutes for most individuals but some may require additional attention throughout the trip. During the kayaking session, about 1-1.5 hours into kayaking at a steady pace we will reach “River Gauge House Site” which is a 5-10 minute walk up a small mound at a very steady pace of 0.5 to 1 mile per hour walk that anyone is able to accomplish as the hike is not steep. This will allow for a time to take pictures, enjoy the scenery and have some snacks to re-fuel for the way back. If time allows, we are able to continue to Emerald Cove depending on weather conditions as well as the amount of kayakers waiting in the area as this can easily exceed 1 or more hours to wait. During the summer months we travel early to avoid the heat and the crowds making it a more enjoyable experience. The average tour has increased from 3 to 3.5 to 4 hours as guests seem to really enjoy the outdoors, wildlife and pace of the tour.
