St George’s Chapel, situated within Windsor Castle’s premises, stands as a prime example of English Gothic architecture. Construction of the existing Chapel started in 1475, led by Edward IV. Don’t forget to look at the intricate stone ceiling, installed by Henry VII, during your visit.
This Chapel has hosted numerous royal weddings including those of TRH The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and HRH Princess Eugenie to Mr Jack Brooksbank.
The Chapel also serves as the spiritual centre for the Order of the Garter, the preeminent order of British Chivalry founded by Edward III in 1348.
The Chapel houses the tombs of 11 monarchs, including those of Queen Elizabeth II, George VI, Henry VIII and Charles I.
