Fabulous day trip from Winton - This was a fabulous day trip from Winton. The trip down to Lark’s Quarry is quite long so the inclusion of Carisbrook Station was a really good addition. Besides the marvellous vistas across the plains our guide Ange provided a brilliantly informative commentary on the land and its geology, flora and fauna.
Lark’s Quarry itself is quite incredible and the lovely descriptive tale told by the Age of Dinosaurs presenter enhanced the experience superbly.

Lark quarry tour with Red Dirt Tours - This was an absolutely fabulous tour. Our tour leader and driver Bec had so much knowledge about everything- dinosaur's, the history of the find, but also about station life, cattle, native flora and fauna. The morning tea on the jump-up at Carisbrook Station , what a spot to enjoy a cuppa. Lunch was a lovely fresh salad . There was plenty of time at Lark Quarry to take in all that it offered.

Just do it. - What a fabulous day trip. Highly recommend. Ang, our guide, was a wealth of information and talked about everything Winton and surrounds. The 100km drive out to the dinosaur stampede site at Lark quarry in a very comfy luxury high clearance truck was great. Morning tea at Carisbrooke station looking over the amazing escarpment and other lookouts and while Ang was talking about snakes in the area, on queue, a massive python appeared on the track. Well done Ang!
A great lunch and a short walk around the site before a guided tour of the stampede site and delicious cold fruit salad before the trip back to Winton.
The whole day was a very memorable experience and wouldn't hesitate to go with Red Dirt Tours again.
Thanks, From Steve & Rosie

Best tour ever. - I have been on a lot of guided tours all over the world and this one would rate as one of the best. Our guide Bec was 200 % she was so informative about everything ie local history relating to early settlers, aboriginal culture, grazing practices and so much more. What rearly stood out to us was her absolute love of animal, bird and plant life their was nothing and or no species she didnt know and i might add she had all the related information to back up her commentry. The land scape and views of Carisbrooke station was second to none including the Loo with a view.Lark quarry was also exceptional the young guide we had from Melbourne who was an absolute dinosour finatic was very informative and full of knowledge. All smokos and lunch were supplied on this tour 100% perfect. If anyone ever complained about this tour company and the service they provide maybe they need to look at them selves.Bec informed us her nick name was 3 days and 3 nights i can see why boy can she retain and communicate history and information.Thank you so much we will always remember our Winton visit.

A must do - What an amazing tour. We were picked up from our accommodation. The vehicle was clean and comfortable. Tour Guide Ang was amazing with her knowledge of the area and vegetation. She kept us up to date with everything. Stopping to take photos. You didn't go hungry on this trip. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea supplied and exceeded all expectations. Highly recommend this Tour. If staying longer in Winton would go on another tour with this Company

Great Tour and Guides - We didn't really know what to expect but were blown away by our guides Vicky (the owner) and trainee guide Jo. They knew so much about everything we saw along the way - the plant and animal life; the different soil types and how they impact the plants that grow; the history of the area and the various properties and their owners (including the filming of the French Survivor Outback); and of course information about the finding of the dinosaur stampede footprints.
Great scenery around the edge of the escarpment - Vicky knew just where to go for the best views and photo opportunities and then put on morning tea for us. Then it was back in the bus and off to see the dinosaur stampede national monument (a bit like a national park). Lunch was a perfect salad pre-packed in individual serves for us then it was off to see the stampede (I will review it in its own right).
When we had finished there, including a hike to the lookout and then the "Spinifex Walk" Vicky and Jo were waiting with fresh fruit salad for us before it was back on the bus to drive back to Winton with stops along the way to look at Wedge Tail Eagles.
When in Winton don't think of anything other than touring with Red Dirt. Their buses are all air-conditioned and four wheel drive - which means you don't have to worry about whether or not your car will get through on the dirt roads. You will learn so much with them and also see so much that you would never otherwise get to look at.

A wonderful day out. - This full day trip was amazing and gave us a real feel for the outback with some stunning views from Carisbrook Station and a fascinating talk and viewing of the dinosaur stampede monument.. The tour bus was clean and comfortable.
What was disappointing was that we assumed that a visit to the station would include a visit the homestead at Carisbrook Station and have morning tea there but all we did was drive and look at the wonderful views and have a picnic set up. I think this should be clarified in the description.
Our tour leader Bec was sonderful and gave us an endless stream of really interesting information and stories and told us she loved to to talk. To be honest it would have been better with a few pauses in the talking of a least a few minutes, especially on the way back to Winton, rather than a continual stream of information for what was over four hours of driving time and ended up being, for us, quite exhausting.
