Fabulous Winter Lights Glow - On reading some of the other reviews, I really can't understand some of the low scoring negative reviews, especially when people comment on the parking and food, when it's the lights you've come to see. I think evening lights displays are more suitable for adults and not aimed at children or to be overtly Christmassy. It just shows it's all relative and a lot depends on other events you've been to. We drove 3hrs for the experience and weren't disappointed. Took us 1.5hrs to wander round and would have happily gone round again if it wasn't close to closing time. Large area and lots of different installations. Loved the photo-frame stops and the fountains to music were fab.

Wisley Winter Glow - Winter Glow was well worth a visit. Quite a few changes from last year that gave us a different view of the gardens. We also had dinner in the Terrace restaurant. Lovely food. Our waitress, Zoe, was great. Attentive without being too pushy. Food was also good, although a bit pricey. Definately be back next year.

Wisley Glow review - This was the first time we have visited Wisley Glow. Our family party of adults of a mixture of ages had a thoroughly enjoyable two hours wandering around the Glow route, taking many photos of the glorious light effects around the route. It is beautifully created, with hidden gems lit up as well as larger more spectacular plants. We got some stunning photos and some videos too. We enjoyed the street food on offer as well. The lights/fountains/fire/music display at the end is very good indeed. A few points to note: - we did overhear some children saying that they were bored; it’s great for adults, very young toddlers and any child who likes photography, but the general lack of interactivity will probably bore other children - much of the lighting is on living plants or linked to water features which is great in that it uses them very effectively, but it’s not Christmas/winter themed except in the most tenuous of ways (a recording of Alan Titchmarsh telling a story about Jack Frost in one corner near one of the restaurants) - it was very busy, but it was still easy to take great photos and admire the displays - the street food was expensive and the range of hot dog/burger options was slightly odd: beef (for children) or pork or vegan. Why nothing chicken apart from a curry?

Fantastic RHS garden. So worth visiting, there is so much to see and has something for everyone if you enjoy gardens - We visited at the end of August whilst on a two day trip to the area. Armed with our RHS membership we entered for free and began our day by grabbing a cup of coffee and perusing the hand held map to decide our best route. There is a lot to see and there were definitely parts that we had to miss out in order to leave on time for our long drive home but everything we did see was of the usual high RHS standard, I left inspired and motivated to get home and continue my own garden development and wrote about this visit on my blog -amidlifeadventure.org

A very special place.:: - Getting to and from Wisley from Central London is very easy. Train from Waterloo to Woking and then the regular RHS Shuttle Bus from Woking Station. Wisley is remarkable. Spread out with an easily accessible area it features greenhouses as well as gorgeous outside gardens. Loved the Piet Oudolf planting. The colours were just turning making for a riot of colour. So glad I went. 4 more RHS gardens to go! Highly recommended.

Great day out - Very good day out, surprised by the colours even in late October. Very busy being half term but it’s big enough to escape most people. Only grip was the food at cafes, prices as you’d expect but the quality was lacking.

Even our 5 year old was underwhelmed at Wisley Glow - Have done Kew, Hampton Court and Wetlands (Barnes) before, this year we thought we’d try Wisley Glow for our family Christmas light trail. I think our 5 year old said it best in her comments as we wandered through: “This isn’t very Christmassy” “I’m bored” “We saw this already” (at the 999th lit up tree) “Can we go home now” It was such a shame but I cannot express how underwhelmed I was. There was no magic, no animation to the lights, no narration of a festive tale (as advertised). For 2 adults and 1 child, tickets + hot dogs + hot drinks came to over £100. Not even remotely worth it. Most exciting moments were driving over the new flyover/bridge from the A3 and seeing the full moon! I love Wisley in the day, but this was just walking around Wisley at night with a bit of colourful up lighting.

GLOW - OH NO!!!! Absolutely Awful!!! - My partner and I made the mistake of visiting their ‘Glow’ Xmas lights experience and it certainly was memorable. It was hands down the worst birthday trip I’ve ever had. Parking was a struggle but eating the food they served was far challenging! The gloriously over priced, tasteless delights were just a 30 minute que away! Once you’ve had your fill, you get the delight of being hurded around a roped off course like cattle. Shuffling around amongst hundreds of other people all equally confused by the state of this event. Whilst kids are running everywhere below your feet along with wheelchairs and walking sticks. All this crammed into a narrow pathway funnelled into a pace the speed of a sloth. A painful crawl through a dimly lite display with as much Xmas spirit as a drunk Santa. It was a sad state of affairs that’s seemed fueled by greed and an epic fail in management. Staff were very rude but thankfully an infrequent encounter and over all…… it’s a firm NO from us!!
