Outstanding - A first visit to Wisley and I was totally blown away with the sheer size and beautifully laid out gardens. Every plant and tree was labelled, so no need to play guessing games or use Google lens. It was fantastic to see so many different aspects of gardening covered, and every corner had a seat to perch on and enjoy the view. The orchard and veg garden, rockery, tropical and cottage gardens were highlights but it’s difficult to pick as all of it was amazing to wander round. Really fantastic things for kids to get involved and the garden centre was fab, I wish all garden centres had the plants A-Z, it makes for much easier shopping! The restaurant was nice and food freshly made. I wish I lived nearer, I would be there often. Please can the RHS plan their next garden in the midlands?

Visit whilst staying in Windsor - Being members of the RHS it made sense to visit Wisley whilst staying in Windsor. As always the gardens are absolutely fantastic and we walked for miles. Would definitely recommend anyone to visit of all ages.

Wisley glow - Wonderful evening exploring Wisley during their glow event. We have been for last few years but this year was the best by far. The lights were spectacular and the all the little added extras make it a great night out. The light and music show by the glasshouse is so good we watched it 3 times. Yeh food and drinks on offer are a little pricey but not eye watering like some attractions

A great garden to visit any time of year - The gardens at Wisley are a delight to visit any time of year. In early summer everything is looking green and lush, especially after such a wet start to the year. There is really more to see at Wisley than you can get around in a day - even as a fit adult walking all day. The day we visited there was also a craft event on. We spoke to a very sensible, older couple who had also travelled from Hertfordshire. They were staying nearby - spending two days exploring the gardens at their leisure and one at the crafts. If you only have a day then you need to prioritise. Its easy to ignore the eastern part of the garden with its heather garden, grass garden and pinetum. The stone pine cafe at this far end can also be a calmer spot for a drink and snack. The centre of the garden is dominated by the old laboratory building and canal. At the opposite end of the canal is the walled garden - with its really useful ' thinking outside the box' display. These are all the plants you can grow instead of box - under such pressure in gardens now with disease. Its a reminder of all the important work done at Wisley - trialing and testing plants to benefit home gardeners. The exotic garden is opposite the trial area - made up of hardy plants with a tropical feel. Also looking tropical but in reality hardy are the Mediterranean terraces on bastion hill. Below these are the refurbished lake. The catering is a OK, and like many places they are clearly finding the costs of supplies and staffing challenging. Our vegetarian/vegan meals were fine, and the cakes were quite good. Unlike most other gardens there is quite a bit of indoors - the glasshouse, old laboratory, hilltop gardening displays. If you do get a wet spell during your visit there are still interesting things to do.

Can't wait to come back again – five star experience - Totally excellent is the phase that comes to mind – everything about our trip went well – super impressed with the whole experience from start to finish. Consistently good from the parking to the free maps, to all the wonderful open spaces and plants and the rock garden and the wildflowers and the glass house, and then a superb lunch in the terrace restaurant. Finally, the gift shop is out of this world, beautiful items at very reasonable prices.

Beautiful Gardens, well worth a visit - Loved our visit to Wisley. There is obviously a lot of TLC involved and the gardens were immaculate. We spent over 5 hours here and loved every minute. Great facilities, everywhere was very clean and it was good to see there was great access for anyone in a wheelchair or Mobility scooter. It was very busy, but as the grounds are so extensive it didn’t feel at all crowded. Well worth a visit. Great to see the glasshouses, however Kew Gardens has the edge for a visitor experience with its giant lily pads and wildlife.

Beautiful Gardens - The Gardens were beautiful to see at this time of the year, however be prepared for some steep climbs if you want to see all that is on offer, so not good for those with mobility issues, unless you are riding a mobility scooter or wheel chair, be prepared for changes in the weather, (a typical British summers day, rain and brilliant sunshine), as shelter from the rain is limited, so dress accordingly, the Old Laboratory is an interesting addition to the site. It's a big site so if you want to see it all you will need a full day.

Stunning gardens....shame about the food outlets - Our first visit to Wisley as RHS members. It is an absolutely stunning place on a lovely day, thankfully it wasn't too hot on the Sunday. Our local RHS Garden is Hyde Hall and not as big or as dear to get in for non members. Loved the gardens, the hilltop and the Glasshouse. The shop and the garden centre were very good but we didnt look at the shop much, as we were heading home and quite tired. The only thing that let it down was the food outlets. Can't comment about the cafe in the shop/garden centre as we didnt realise there was one there but the Terrace Restaurant is quite expensive looking at the menu, and the Food Hall had very limited choice and also expensive. Cake and drinks selection were good but very little choice of other food. Hyde Hall is better where food is concerned. If you plan ahead, bring a picnic. I am glad I visited and would like to go again at some point.

Actually the soup is usually good! - Wisley is always worth a visit at any time of the year. On Saturday the garden looked spectacular. What disappoints every time is the food served in the food halls: expensive and very generally tasteless. I sometimes wonder whether the kitchen staff taste the food before expecting others to pay the high price for awful quality.Having experienced bad food before, we decided to share a gooseberry and polenta slice, rather than purchasing two slices; a good thing too: dry, crumbly, with not even a hint of gooseberries. Yet their halls are full of people eating awful food. The British will simply eat, pay and never complain - those who do, are usually the foreigners. Such a shame, as so many tourists go there and they have to put up with inferior food and lousy tea too!

Don’t bother eating on site - Last visited a few years ago and had a terrible lunch but put it down to a one off. Sadly that wasn’t the case. Ordered a jacket potato today with beans & cheese. The potato was raw in the middle and the tablespoon each of beans and tasteless cheese were served to the side rather than on the potato. Indifferent service and poor food for the price. Won’t revisit.
