Maori experience with fine wines and wonderful guide - This was the most amazing experience. We learned about Maori culture from the moment we were greeted at our hotel. We were told about the wooden spear and all it's designs and how it was used. Along the way we were told how the area around Wanaka was settled. The three wineries were beautiful with very tasty wines of many types. The tastings were informative and intimate. On the last stop, we were treated with a spread of crackers, savory jam, pate, and artisanal cheeses. I can highly recommend this tour to a everyone.

Real Local Wine and Maori History and Culture! - Everything on this tour was sensational! Great local knowledge, fantastic Maori culture, amazing knowledge of the area and a real Maori Experience! So passionate and welcoming yet very humble and sharing. You can see why he is an asset to the tourist industry in the area and it really made us feel like locals. All of the wineries he chose were local family owned so this also supported the local economy. I thought I knew my wines but Joe knew how they were made, the differences between the grapes, and how the locals make their products stand out. A beautiful part of the country shared with us by a real Local!

MUST DO IN WANAKA!!! - Fabulous day visiting 3 vineyards. Intimate group size is so much better than a bus full. Joe was an awesome guide. His energy was amazing and Māori knowledge was fascinating. We all had a blast with him. Would recommend it! ❤️. Thanks, Joe!

A Must Do in Wanaka - The tour was amazing and should definitely be on everyone's itenerary when they visit Wanaka. Joe was extremely knowledgeable about both Maori culture and the wineries and was fantastic at teaching and explaining everything. I couldn't recommend this tour enough.

More than just a Wine Tour! - We had a fantastic day with our guide Joe. Not only did we visit 4 premium wine producers from the Otago region (Pinot Noir & Chardonnay specialists) but also learned so much about the Māori Culture from Joe. His traditional Māori welcome was a very cool way to start the day. Highly recommended!

Lovely day out with Joe - What a rich and wonderful experience we had with the charming Joe! He greeted each of us with the traditional nose to nose rubbing of the Maori and explained much about his culture. Joe took us to Rippon winery first- a fabulous vineyard with great views over the lake. Then on to Maori point for lunch and more great wines. Highly recommend!!

See photos and decide for yourself. :( - I can only review the interactions with the owner, not the actual experience itself. The tour advertisement said it would not go ahead without at least two people. My husband isn't a wine fan, but he booked me for a tour expecting I'd be with at least one more or potentially a group of fellow wine enthusiasts. Unfortunately the day prior we were notified I was still the only guest. The owner offered to still take me on the tour, but I was uncomfortable going alone and didn't think it would be fun to be alone on a tour. My husband was booked in for skiing so couldn't join me, and requested a cancellation the evening prior when we were notified there was nobody else on the tour. The owner never responded. The following day, he refused to refund our tour fee. When my husband left a poor review about this interaction, he became very aggressive and verbally abusive over the entire encounter. It was shocking! I will post the entire email exchange here in photos. I understood his original frustration, and would have been willing to accept a partial refund or worked something out if he had just been kind or responsive, but his abusive language was over the top. My advice is to be cautious if you book here, make sure your plans are 100% certain and book in as a group to be sure you won't end up alone or out your money entirely.
