Wroclaw Christmas Wonderland - I've been fortunate to visit most of Europe's city Christmas markets and didn't know what to expect when we visited Wroclaw at the weekend, what we found was a winter wonderland that simply blew all other cities away. The city itself is wonderful with stunning architecture including many beautiful cathedrals on Cathedral Island. There was a tremendous buzz in the city around the cafes, bars and restaurants, not to mention the Christmas Market itself. The market quite simply blew us away, it was spread over the Market Square and many surrounding streets, it was enormous, the quality of the goods on display was far better than the usual tat that you find in other markets. The Christmas lights were a joy to behold, a joyous sight indeed. The 2 hour flight from Edinburgh direct to Wroclaw was painless, followed by a £10 taxi transfer to our city hotel. Wroclaw really is a "must visit" at this time of year.
