Highlights
  • Old Town- Historic Center - Your tour begins at the Market Square (Rynek), where you’ll encounter the distinctive late Gothic City Hall. The journey continues to the historic Salt Square, now home to a charming flower market.
  • John and Margaret House - These two picturesque tenements, known locally as ‘Jaś i Małgosia’ or ‘Hansel & Gretel’ to foreigners, are linked by an archway symbolizing a couple holding hands. Built in the 16th and 18th centuries, they are the last remnants of the townhouses that once surrounded St. Elizabeth’s cemetery.
  • Wroclaw University - As you stroll through the medieval streets, you’ll head towards the university campus. The main building is a stunning example of Baroque architecture from the Hapsburg era.
  • Market Hall (Hala Targowa) - Next, you’ll have time to explore a local Market Hall, where you can admire the vibrant stands selling fresh fruits and vegetables.
  • Archikatedra pw. Sw. Jana Chrzciciela we Wroclawiu - The tour concludes in Wroclaw’s oldest district, Ostrow Tumski. This area is rich in religious heritage, featuring numerous churches, convents, and other Catholic institutions. Here, you’ll visit the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the final stop on your tour. You’ll learn about the origins of Christianity in Poland and the extensive damage the cathedral endured during World War II.

A Great Introduction to Wroclaw! - From the beginning of our guide's tour presentation, my wife and I knew we were in for a special time for the next three hours. Our guide, "Sean," had historical pictures, photographs, and maps to assist and support his descriptions of the many places of interest we would encounter along our walk together. As Americans, we were pleased that the Viator assigned tour guide spoke fluent English. Even though we would have to cut the tour short due to unanticipated soreness from a prior all-day tour to one of Poland's famous castles and the Church of Peace (also arranged through Viator), the Wroclaw Old Town Guided Walking Tour was filled with exciting, interesting, and useful information. In our opinion, this tour offers great value for its low price. It is highly recommended!

Awesome history tour - Our guide gave us an awesome tour of old town Wroclaw, its monuments, churches, and yes, gnomes. We started in the market square and saw the Bourgeois Art Museum, pillory, old prison, and two of the islands. What was great about this tour was the storytelling we got from our guide. Highly recommended.

Must do in Wroclaw - This was a great, not that strenuous walking tour of the Old Town. The guide was a brilliant history buff. The history of Wrocław & Silesia is fascinating. We all really enjoyed the coffee/ bathroom break that is so necessary on a walking tour. It was very easy to find your way back. An easy city to walk.

Well worth of taking tour in Wroclaw - An informative and interesting historical tour of Old Town Wroclaw, well worth taking. A clear historical itinerary that gave us more insight into the local architecture and culture. Unfortunately we didn't have time for the afternoon University tour, so we'll leave that for another time.
