A worthwhile tour - A tour that is really worth it. When visiting Malta, a detour to the neighboring island of Gozo is recommended. The crossings are quite quick. You get a good overview of Gozo. If you are interested in more, a tour is recommended. Early in the morning with the ferry over and with the hop on hop off buses you can reach every point on the island.

Gozo - We leave the Cirkewwa dock at the westernmost point of the island. Traveling 25 minutes by ferry to the port in Mgarr, the main port of Gozo. On the shore you can see comino, another island of the archipelago of Malta, (which we did not visit) where only a small community with less than thirty inhabitants lives. Arrival to the island of Gozo, the second most important island of the archipelago, known for its natural landscapes with a rural charm, historical heritage and megalithic temples. The beauty of the island is so, they say it will have been this beauty, to inspire Homer, and describe in his work Odyssey, as his nymph Calipso, will have retained Ulysses for seven years, seducing him on this paradise island.

Lovely guide, lots of transport time but great value overall - Well organised, there was a separate transfer from Valletta for a few of us and the tour started at the ferry. Due to the nature of the route and locations, we did spend quite a lot of time travelling on the bus and I wish we had at least some free time to explore on our own in some of the sites. Our guide Tracey was amazing - very very kind and attentive, super knowledgeable and truly tried to connect with people from the group.

Pleasant surprise - Tour (CIVITATIS provided by Maltarama) well organized with guides for different languages. The time lost due to traffic inconveniences has been largely recovered. The guide in Italian (Bernadette) gave a historical and architectural perspective on Gozo and beyond. It also exhausts the sociological aspects. The places visited are wonders not to be missed, of course, if you are guided you will understand them better. Lunch is acceptable. Advised ..

Goto Gozo! - The trip was great value and well led by Olivia who had to cope with us losing an hour due to a ferry issue. She was friendly, efficient and very knowledgeable.

Fantastic way to see Gozo from Malta - I thoroughly enjoyed this day trip from Malta. Getting on and off the ferry was extremely chaotic and stressful. But the rest of the tour was very well managed and thoroughly enjoyable. I had read some reviews about the lunch option being poor but the lunch was excellent with 3 courses, red and white wine and water all included.

Interesting Island - Expect waiting/queues for the ferry. - Very interesting island. A bit of queuing to get on the ferry at both ends of the tour. Tour leader a bit hard to understand sometimes.

Sites good, tour was problematic - Group too large Tour guide seemed disorganized Viator did not relay our request for vegetarian lunch, was served potatoes and cole slaw, restaurant did not accommodate our request, tour guide did not help, lunch was also too late (2:30pm) Restaurant had only one toilet for each gender Felt rushed and not able to enjoy the sites, which were good, to the fullest

The tour guide ruined it for us - The tour guid Ragina rushed us and we couldn't enjoy it. Put us on the wrong bus twice. So not worth it, your better off going yourself

Gozo is a no-go - I've read the reviews by others and my wife and I don't understand the overwhelming 5 stars. We booked Gozo by mistake after googling "best hotels in Malta"! OK, our mistake. My wife and I like city centres and are real foodies, so this will influence heavily on this Review. She is 51 and I'm 63 which must be relevant also. We were booked in the Duke's Hotel, which is excellent by the way and the staff very attentive. So now to the Island itself. First, the food. No-one on this island can cook so don't bother searching for "best restaurants in Gozo" because you'll simply be very disappointed, but at twice the price as somewhere else not on your search list. However, Duke's do a truly excellent breakfast (but not dinner) so apart from that eat at McDonald's. Second, Victoria the capital. Very tiny; very loud for its size; architecture nothing to write home about apart from of course the Citadel; grubby and unmaintained, but impeccably clean (as is the whole island). Unlike the noise, things to do are very much on the quiet side. There's just no 'buzz' to the place whatsoever. We arrived at 10:45 and we were told nowhere would be open to get something to eat - or drink. We were told by our receptionist that this was because everyone gets up at 5am! Not much used to tourists if everyone is tucked up in bed by 10 (I exaggerate). Thirdly, the roads. Not nearly as dangerous as one Reviewer has described. But we agree most of the roads haven't received attentin since WWII; there are many sudden turns and hair-raising hairpin bends. Most of all, the standard of driving on the island is awful so be prepared for everyone just to ignore you as if your car is invisible. Pedistrians too just wont move off the road out of the way, so be preared also to have human offal all over your front bumper. When I picked up my hire car I refused it because it was absolutely battered all over, like a banger racer. After being here I understand why; most other cars are equally as battered. The one good thing is that nowhere is more than 10 minutes away. To find somewhere with a pulse we got the ferry to Malta and drove the 55 minutes to Valletta. Unlike one Reviewer's opinion, we found Valletta perfect for us, in fact we thought it the best place we've ever been to on the entire Med and continental Europe. (We are very seasoned travellers.) It has everything - great food,great architecture, great history, good museums and an absolutely super-buzzy nightlife. So much so that we did an impromptu overnight stay at a hotel without even a toothbrush between us. We met up with a small group of French and Italians and sung top hit pop songs together all night to accompany the one man band playing. Brilliant! If we can thank Gozo for anything it is that we discovered Valletta!
