• The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - Terracotta Warriors and Horses: In 1974, peasants digging a well made the greatest archaeological discovery of the 20th century when they found fragments of Terracotta Warriors. Excavating the vault revealed thousands of warriors and their horses, an entire army meant to accompany its emperor into eternity.
• Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor - Emperor Qin Shihuang conquered and unified the war-torn six states of ancient Central China with formidable force. Standing before this tomb, one cannot help but be awestruck. Historical records describe: “Excavate three layers of spring water and seal the seams with copper water, then place the outer coffin and build palaces, position officials of all ranks, and fill it with rare utensils, treasures, and strange stones. Create mountains and rivers with mercury and install mechanisms. The mausoleum’s roof depicted astronomical images, and the ground had geographical figures. Torches made from giant salamander oil were used to keep it lit for a long time.” Today, Emperor Qin Shihuang still seems like the imperial ruler of an underground kingdom.
• Lintong District - We will visit a Terracotta making factory. The forms and methods used to shape the Terracotta Warriors were based on real life. Each soldier’s physique, attire, and expression were meticulously crafted. According to archaeologists, the Terracotta Army was originally painted in various colors. The factory will demonstrate how the Terracotta Warriors were made from clay to masterpiece.
