Highlights
  • The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - We will start at 7:30 a.m, which is a bit early morning so as to avoid crowds. \n\nAbout 1 hour later, we will arrive at Terra-cotta Army Museum. This museum is built right on the original site of Terra-cotta Army as a great protection. You will see the museum is composed of three pits, which contained different terracotta figures and weapons ranked according to their different roles in a battle. We will focus on Pit 1 and Pit 2 as these two contain the majority of discovered figures. It’s said this site has in total 8000 soldiers but we can only see part of them right now. Some of them remain unexcavated. From this short tour, you will learn about the history, society and culture of Qin Dynasty. \n- Huaqing Palace - In the afternoon, you will head for last site of this day trip - Huaqing Palace. It was a palace for Emperor Longji of Tang Dynasty to get away from the stressful court and enjoy hot spring which this place is very famous for. The Emperor had a world-famous concubine named Yang Yuhuan, who usually took bath here. That’s why you will see a couple of ancient bathtubs here. They had a great time in this palace and left a wonderful love story to later generations. Nowadays, you will still see the trees that they planted together and under which they made wishes to live together until death apart. Fun experience, would recommend :) - Very much appreciated Stefanie's enthusiasm and energy during our tour. Was very happy that she came directly to our hotel to pick us up and even brought us some water and snacks. She answered all our questions and gave us lots of historical trivia! Would definitely recommend her.

Amazing trip to the past - I would like to thank our tour guide Stefanie for the superb tour she has planned for us. She has explained to us the history of the 2 amazing places we have visited and she has a lot of knowledge about the history of Xi’an and about the dynasties who existed there in that area. She has also arranged for us 2 amazing shows which we have enjoyed. Thanks as well for our driver Mr. Ma and I would recommend anyone who want to visit Xi’an to book the tour with her.

We visited the Terracota warriors and Huaqing Palace the first day and the second day we went to the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, Ancient City Walls and the Muslim Quarter. She also picked up us as the the train station and took as to the airport. Prices are reasonable and the service is 5 stars!! Thank you Stefanie!

Custom-tailored tour without any hiccup. - I went with Stefanie's company as I couldn't find any tour going exactly where I wanted to go. Stefanie's company was able to custom-tailor everything for my friend and myself. We hired a driver for more than the usual hours (12 hours that is), because we wanted to see Terracotta Army, Huaqing Palace and the Song of the Everlasting Sorrow show in the evening. We didn't want to hassle around with (fake) tourist buses, desperately trying to figure out how to get back to our hotel after the show and be plagued booking tickets on through Chinese-only websites or tour operators not flexible enough to provide what we wanted. The trick was to depart only at 11 o'clock only, so we arrived at Terracotta Warriors Museum when a lot of people were having lunch. After 3 hours of visiting, we went back to our driver and were brought to Huaqing Hot Springs Palace. If weather permits, you should absolutely take the ride to Mount Li (Lishan) by Cable Car and look around there. Also below there are lots of interesting sights. Don't take tours that hurry you through within 1 hour, you better don't go at all then. After another 3 hours, we went for dinner at the on-site restaurant (next to the parking lot) and when we finished, attended the Song of Everlasting Sorrow show. You don't want to miss this out, it's fantastic and you won't see something like this elsewhere! Be sure to book a center seat, it's absolutely worthwhile! Stefanie pre-booked all tickets, particularly the Show tickets for us. Be sure to reserve them on-time as the show, particularly the good spots to watch, are selling out quickly during peak season! If you're retired, be sure to let Stefanie know, as there often is some discount at most touristic spots in China. The driver was always on-time, friendly, reliable and trustworthy. He spoke little English, but it was enough to understand what he wanted to tell us. Everything went smoothly, there's nothing to complain about. Would choose Stefanie's again if I returned to Xi'an.
