- The Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses - Avoid crowded tour buses and slow-moving groups with a convenient private driver to the renowned Terracotta Warriors. Meet your local guide at 8am in the hotel lobby. Expect to see 7,000 life-size terracotta warriors in authentic battle formation, buried over 2,200 years ago (recommended visit: 2.5 hours with plenty of flat walking). The museum includes three original pits: Pit 1 as the main force, Pit 2 as the Flexible Troupe, and Pit 3 as the Command Center. An exhibition hall hosts various exhibitions periodically. This is a treasure trove for studying the history of China’s first dynasty, the Qin Dynasty. 2 hours • Admission Ticket Included.
- Xi’an City Wall (Chengqiang) - The Xi’an city wall is the only complete city wall remaining in China and is now a landmark of Xi’an. Spanning 13.74 kilometers, the wall is rectangular and features a perfect defense system. From the wall, you can view the moat, arrow towers, watch towers, and the water drainage system.
- Big Wild Goose Pagoda (Dayanta) - Located in the Da Ci’en Temple (Great Mercy Temple), the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda boasts a history of over 1,300 years. It was once the site where the renowned Tang Dynasty monk Xuanzang (Tripitaka) translated Buddhist scriptures, marking the beginning of Buddhism’s spread in China.
- Muslim Quarter - Many Muslims arrived in Xi’an via the Silk Road during the Tang Dynasty (600-900AD). They integrated with the local community through study, work, and intermarriage, and have remained here ever since. In this area, you’ll find a variety of foreign spices, numerous Muslim restaurants, and some souvenirs.
- Tang Dynasty Show - The Tang Dynasty (618AD to 900AD) was China’s most prosperous era, rich in music, calligraphy, and painting. This evening show (7:30pm to 8:30pm) is inspired by murals in the Tang Tombs. The vibrant costumes, live music with ancient instruments, and classic dance offer a deeper understanding of ancient Tang culture. Easily book the show with the guide on the tour day at a discounted agent price and enjoy round-trip transfers from the hotel.
- Huaqing Palace - Serving as the imperial Winter Palace for over 3,000 years, this palace is renowned for its natural hot springs. Five bathing pools from the Tang Dynasty are still preserved here. Visitors can admire Tang Dynasty architecture, beautiful bonsai, plants, ponds, and landscape compositions. Bullet holes from the Double-Twelve Incident in 1936, a significant event in China’s modern history, can also be seen.
