This isn’t your typical walking tour. Instead, it’s a small group tour conducted via private tuktuk, complete with an endless supply of beer and soda. Your English-speaking guide will take you through the lesser-known areas of Xi’an, where you’ll dine at quaint, family-owned establishments and sample the finest local cuisine that you can’t discover on your own. After a 3-hour adventure, the tour culminates at a local brewery where you can enjoy the town’s only craft beer.

Meeting Location: Xi Hua Men Fire Station, located 1 city block north of the Bell Tower, just west of the intersection of Bei Da Jie Street and Xi Hua Men Street.
The fire station is a very easy landmark to recognize, just look for big red doors with numbers painted on them.

Lots of food and great hidden local gems. - The Xian tuk tuk tour was great fun. Jane was a great guide, knowledgeable about the local area and food history. The food was plentiful, including Biang Biang noodles, kebabs, spiced bread, dumplings, special soup, chicken gourd… and more. Weloved the local restaurants, meeting the owners and hearing their history. Out driver was speedy and nimble, part of the entertainment.

A great way to experience the Muslim Quarter with Ken, a fantastic tour guide - Ken was upbeat, inclusive and all-around fun to have a four 'course' meal with! He explained each type of food including its' history and significance to the Xi'an region as well as the cooking methods and ingredients. A delicious evening - and Ken took care of everything flawlessly.

Fantastic food tour from lost plate as always! - Fantastic tour as always from lost plate. I can never recommend them enough. Our guide Jane was fantastic and super considerate. Highlight of the night for us was the biang biang noodles but every spot was a winner!

Five Star Food Tour in Xian - Fantastic food tour in Xi’an with a great group of travellers! Our guide Ken was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history of both the city, its people and the food!

Tremendous food tour experience in Xian - Outstanding-- highly recommended. Coming from a western country we were interested in trying a variety of foods around China, each area with a distinct cuisine. We had already been on one Lost Plate food tour and thought it good. This one in Xian even outstripped the prior. Our guide Buren was extremely well informed, had a welcoming and fun attitude, and completely made the evening, just positively fantastic. Hospitality professionals should learn a thing or two from him. The overall atmosphere, the great learning experience, and of course the food made this tour more than worth it, and entirely a highlight of our multi-week trip around China. I would absolutely recommend the Lost Plate evening tour in Xian to family and friends.

Thank you Ken! - It was dan excellent tour. Very nice guide named Ken and he explained a lot about Xi’an, told us a lot about China and we enjoyed the special restaurants and food. For us these restaurants would not be found without the guidance. Lots of different food types and very kind guide and tuktuk drivers! Thanks again Ken we had a wonderful evening with you!

Tasty and fun experience in Xi’an - It was a tasty and fun experience as a big family. Jane was our guide. She was amazing and she took us the local places. I would definetely recommend this tour.

A Tuk Tuk treat! - We booked the Tuk Tuk tour through our China tour organiser, Audley Travel, and we were so happy that we did. The tour guide Deihl was young, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic and took us to 4 super local backstreet eateries we'd never have found ourselves. The food was great and our only regret was eating too much in the first 2 places so we couldn't do to be last 2 justice!The evening finished with a stop at local micro-brewery with a good choice of beers. We would certainly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an, but don't do as we did and go on your last night. Go on your first night so you can go back to a couple of the places you've discovered! One final thing;experiencing Xi'an backstreet traffic in a Tuk Tuk is guaranteed to raise your heart rate a few times during the night!

Culinary tour of Xi'An - The food was fantastic at all of the restaurants that we visited, including cold noodles, kebabs, biangbiang noodles and a lot more. Buren was excellent as a guide, very informative and good company as well.
Whizzing around the streets in a tuk-tuk was also fun. Totally recommend this tour.

Excellent evening food tour - Excellent tour of the quarter. Buren is an exceptional guide; very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Xian and its food. The choice of restaurants was very good and it was great to see the area by tuk tuk.
