West Route (Round-trip Cable Car): Take the cable car directly to the 14th watchtower, walk to the 20th watchtower (where you can climb the “Brave Man’s Slope”, and the 20th watchtower is the highest point), and then take the cable car back to the 14th watchtower. The section from the 14th to the 19th watchtowers is relatively flat, while the section from the 19th to the 20th watchtower is steeper. The Mutianyu Great Wall is less crowded than Badaling, offering a more peaceful and enjoyable hiking experience. Its well-preserved walls and watchtowers provide insight into China’s ancient defensive system.
