All Aboard the Ginger Train!

As soon as we arrived at the Ginger Factory in Yandina, the kids were buzzing with excitement. The first thing we did was hop on Moreton, the charming 120-year-old ginger train. The open-air carriages provided a delightful way to take in the lush tropical gardens surrounding the factory. The kids loved the gentle chugging of the train, and I must admit, it was a relaxing start to our day. The train ride is a must-do, and it sets the tone for a day filled with fun and exploration.

Overboard Adventure and Sweet Treats

Next, we ventured to the Overboard boat ride, an indoor adventure that had us all giggling like children. The ride takes you on a whimsical journey with over 200 handmade puppets, following the gingerbread man as he tries to escape two hungry chefs. We took the advice from a fellow traveler and managed to get a boat all to ourselves, making the photo taken at the start a cherished keepsake. After the ride, we indulged in some ginger scones and a cup of tea at the café. The scones were divine, and the kids couldn’t resist grabbing an ice cream before we continued our adventure.

Shopping and More Fun

The Ginger Factory’s shops are a treasure trove of unique gifts and souvenirs. I found some lovely presents for friends and, of course, treated myself to a little something. The prices were reasonable, and the selection was impressive. We also explored The Zog Trail, an interactive rainforest activity that the kids absolutely loved. Before leaving, we made sure to let the kids burn off some energy at the Little Explorers play center and Bee-trice the Jumping Castle. It was a day filled with laughter, learning, and family bonding, and I can’t recommend the Ginger Factory enough for a fun-filled family day out.
